Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Tim Mosenfelder, Getty Images At the end of 2011, Arcade Fire will have accomplished the never-before-accomplished feat (we're pretty sure) of headlining, in the matter of one year and two months, America's Big Four music festivals: Lollapalooza last summer, Coachella this past spring, now Bonnaroo on Friday night and Austin City Limits this coming October, with each festival entertaining at least [...]
Interview Magazine has celebrities interview other celebrities, and for their latest issue they asked Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler to talk to True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård. Turns out Butler is a huge True Blood fan, but he hasn't finished the last season, so they don't about specific episodes so much as try to find common ground between the places they've lived or visited in Texas, Canada, and Louisiana. Butler also enthusiastically describes a Zydeco documentary on Louisiana's black creole population: "It’s like black people in cowboy hats speaking with this weird accent." Another thing [...]

After Arcade Fire had one of the best years a band could possibly ask for in 2010, they are to have another huge run in 2011. They are planning a re-release deluxe edition of The Suburbs featuring two new songs. “Speaking in Tongues” is the band’s collaberation with David Byrne and is quite dark. “Culture War” is a jumpy, incredibly emotional song and I can’t fathom why this didn’t make the record. Win’s melodies near of the end of the track are breathtaking. As wonderful as The Suburbs was, this would have easily been in my top 3 songs off [...]

Tweet I think there's something particularly special about music that's really evocative of a time or place. It's why I never grow tired of Guillemots ' "Through The Windowpane" - every time I listen I actually feel like I'm on a train to Brazil, and end up heartbroken in São Paulo. Pretty epic. The Lonely Wild have just the same touch, only in their case it's the Old West they conjure up. Formed by Andrew Carroll and Ryan Ross from the ashes of [...]

They 'get off' on the whole 'wearing costumes' thing. Most bands just have clothes 'gifted' to them from brands that want them to wear their clothes on Fallon, but Arcade Fire is like, "No. I got this, yall." This means we get to see Regine Chassagne in weird ballerina outfits, but more importantly, Win Butler chose to wear a Rent-A-Cop uniform in show of [...]

What if you spent the time to paint a portrait of your favourite indie band, then did everything in your power to make sure that they hung it above their dining room table? Well, that's what some Arcade Fire fan did, and now he wants some1 to tell Win and Regine that he made a super sweet [...]

The NBA regular season came to a close last night, and the Arcade Fire was in the greater- Phoenix area to take in a Phoenix Suns game. Steve Nash is a Canadian 2-time MVP who often tries to be 'more alt'/'indie' than San Antonio Spurs player Matt Bonner . However, his team didn't qualify for the playoffs because Amare Stoudamire was secretly their best player for the past several years and he went to 'save' The New York Knicks. It seems like Win Butler , Will Butler , [...]

Filed under: News Kevin Winter, Getty Images Arcade Fire have been known to make drums and percussive instruments out of just about anything handy -- from pots and pans to stage rigging -- and so far, it's worked to their favor. But they almost blew it in Haiti recently when, right before an informal performance in a refugee camp, frontman Win Butler scrambled to find a makeshift drum. "I spotted two red [...]

link: http://www.rollingstone.com/mu sic/photos/exclusive-photos-ar cade-fire-perform-in-haiti-201 10330/0747429 Haiti used to be a relevant disaster zone because there was an Earthquake there that stole a lot of disaster buzz from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. However, now Japan is sorta the leading buzz disaster, and Libya is also getting a lot of international relations buzz, so Wyclef Jean is basically the only celeb who is still buzzing about Haiti. Anyways, Regine Chassagne is the 'front woman' of the Arcade Fire and she made the Arcade Fire donate [...]
Video: Arcade Fire’s Scenes From the Suburbs Trailer Director Spike Jonze’s music video for the title track off Arcade Fire’s triumphant third album made for a fine trailer to their 30-minute short , Scenes From the Suburbs , in and of itself, but it’s still fun to watch the first proper preview, which just hit the Web — complete with a Win Butler voiceover, Colin Stetson soundtrack, and “coming soon to DVD” teaser.

The Arcade Fire won another 'Best Album of the Year' award from some other Awards System/Show, but because it wasn't an important awards show, they just sent in this pre-recorded message because they are in the studio working on a new album. As u can see, Win Butler delivers a zany message as the band is 'jamming out'. U see Will Butler , the Ginger bro, the other dudes, and even Regine . They claim that the upcoming album is a jazz album. Does the jazz album sound [...]

Link: http://www.nba.com/spurs/featu res/110217_coachb_music.html Matt Bonner is an alt indie NBA player who recently did some impression of Nappy Dynamite [ link ]. Anyways, he has some indie music/sandwich hunting blog, and he wanted 2 brag abt how indie he is, and how he is boys with the Arcade Fire . He did some interview with Win Butler abt basketball/the NBA. Win seemed like his usual 'standoff-ish' / 'I'm too good for this interview' self, but probably was intimidated by the NBA [...]

I was delighted to see Arcade Fire won the Album Of the Year Grammy last night. Considering they were competing against the likes of Eminem, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga this was a huge achievement but 'The Suburbs' deserves all the plaudits because from start to finish it is flawless. The band blasted through 'Month [...]
