Arctic Monkeys have released a new standalone single and video for the song “R U Mine?”. The track is generally just a fun pop song, but it's actually a memorable and catchy change of pace from the group's last album, Suck It and See . The video is pretty light as well it features prominently front man Alex Turner and drummer Matt Helders goofing around in a car. Simple as it is there is something entertaining about that simplicity. “R U Mine?” is available now on iTunes.

It doesn't feature on Suck It And See , their 2011 album, and with its pshycadelic voodoo guitar and a lyric-spitting Alex Turner features a little more oomph than anything on that record. Despite claiming they wouldn't be retreating back to the studio until 2013, earlier today Arctic Monkeys released a surprise single in the form of the grunge heavy R U Mine? Accompanied by a black and white, entirely tongue in cheek video, R U Mine? finds Turner's vocals at their finest since 20072s Favourite Worst Nightmare . With their last two records proving slightly questionable in quality, it's brilliant to hear the four piece back to their very best.
