This was the smoothest running show I've seen at Rocketown. The load ins and outs were way quicker than usual, and that was a huge relief. That being said, the doors opened ridiculously early at 5:30, so due to day job obligations, I missed Sing It Loud and most of A Rocket to the Moon. A [...]

Before the release of On Your Side, A Rocket To The Moon was a promising band on the verge of mainstream success. Their old sound from the Summer 07 EP was innovative and the more recent tracks from Greetings From… were a tasteful mainstream change, so now the question is where does On Your Side fall? The first full-length album from ARTTM should have been something special, much like bands that have preceded them (The Maine comes to mind). Unfortunately while it was a good album, it was neither special, nor will it rocket them to a level they haven't [...]

A Rocket To The Moon cover Taylor Swift "Forever & Always"

After a long and gruelling two weeks, I'm finally back in action. While I'd like to say I was on vacation in the middle of Madagascar saving helpless elves from a fiendish dragon, I'm sad to report I was only swamped with midterms. Although if you'd like to believe in the earlier, feel free. But without too much commotion, I'd like to introduce today's band. An artist I reviewed back in March is back under a new label and wielding a completely new sound. A Rocket to the Moon has been signed, and to none other then Fueled By Ramen. [...]

I'm a big fan of one man bands because more often than not, they get it right the first go around. A Rocket To The Moon is a pop-punk/electronica band fronted by sole member Nick Santino and he got it right. Unlike a lot of other solo projects, Nick doesn't play a wide variety of instruments, not that he lacks the talent, but because his music relies almost exclusively on his ability to work with synths. His talent to compose, sequence, and produce catchy, care-free pop-rock makes him a talent worth noting. Santino is not very [...]
