Black Marble are releasing a modern benchmark and a future classic. Serious, but not devastating, sweet with a side of dour.

After a long anticipated wait, Ricky Eat Acid (Sam Ray) and Arrange (Malcom Lacey) have released a collaboration named "Sketches". I initially heard the song "P.S.L.W." a while back, and was hooked and eager for more. Recorded from the fall and winter of 2011, initially intending to be a full album, they were set back by technology failure, thus putting the project on hold. They then decided to release the four songs that they did finish as an album of "sketches", rather than not at all. The [...]

Brand New by Ricky Eat Acid + Arrange Maybe I should be posting some party anthems being a Friday night and all but I say fuck society. Ricky Eat Acid + Arrange 's new EP Sketches is just what my appetite craves. This music hits hard. Malcom Lacey's (Arrange) vocals float like a ghostly charm across the icy sharp synths and percussion. The whole EP demonstrates the duo's dynamic production capabilities with sublime piano's and guitar sending echoes of delightfulness and magnetism through my heart. Painstakingly beautiful to say the least. Originally [...]

Now he's on my radar, it appears I missed out on listening to Portland artist arrange 's Plantation last year, but he has a new LP on the horizon in New Memory and I'm loving what I've heard from it so far. Malcolm Lacey, the man behind the name, produces delicious, atmospheric R&B influenced dreamscapes. - take a step back. arrange - New Memory will be released on 10/07 Bands to watch: arrange [...]

New Memory is arrange's paean to PMA, a slow burning celebration. arrangeCaves.mp3 [...]

More than a few years into the rap game, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover still has a lot to prove to all his haters. He's constantly had to legitimize his rap career, gaining his initial fame from writing and acting in the comedy community (pun intended). He has a unique style comprised of a double edged sword that is his ability to humanize himself and admit his faults, making him more relatable for his listeners but knocks himself down a few pegs from the untouchable pedestal most rappers thrive on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it's plain annoying. On [...]
This is some really cool visuals for a string arrangement of Breezewax's Distant Rhythms. Distant Rhythms was originally an instrumental produced under standard Hip Hop procedure but was rewritten for a small ensemble. It's always real cool to hear some 'live' Hip Hop music in that sense, although it's always quite strange that something so traditional feels so original. Continue Reading

Check out the new video from Arrange for "Caves" , taken from the upcoming album New Memory . It doesn't officially drop until the 10th of July, although if you pre-order the vinyl now you get an instant digital download . Don't act like you're not tempted... The video itself fits exactly with Malcom's musical style - slightly detached, dreamy, kinda dark. No surprise about the close fit, mind you: he shot and directed it himself. Some people get all the [...]
Portland 19-year-old Malcom Lacey bka Arrange directed and beautifully shot "Caves" himself, its video following suburban kids young enough to live at home but grown enough to break people's hearts and burn soiled bed sheets ... read more
Here's one for all you guitar geeks/afficionados out there - UK 'fingerstyle guitarist' Mike Dawes ' solo arrangement of Gotye 's tune, Somebody That I Use To Know - played without any overdubs: Impressive eh?

Bedroom producer Malcolm Lacey, aka Arrange , dropped the beautiful and dreamy track from his upcoming album, New Memory . While many are making sounds similar to Lacey, his music comes off more pure in his approach. You get the feeling that he has a higher sensitivity to the world around him and that is evident in the introspective, honest lyrics that read more of an excerpt from a journal, than a song in the lovely North . The song is more of a reaffirmation of his [...]
Oh man, am I getting excited. It's only just over a month now until the new Arrange album drops, and to whet our collective appetites we've got a stream of "North" courtesy of Danger Village . Where " I Want To Be Alright " felt like a bit of a departure from the sound of "Plantation" , "North" is definitely back in known-and-loved territory from Malcom. As in, it features vocals - and since it was the lyrics that really stood out [...]

This new, beautiful cut from Arrange's (via We All Want Someone To Shout For ) new album New Memory is genuinely one of the prettiest things you'll hear all day. Check it out below and grab New Memory July 10.
Bedroom producer, Arrange’s (AKA Malcom Lacey) unexpectedly awesome 2011 album, Plantation , really struck a chord with anyone who had been through an earth shattering romantic breakup. Music Player: Arrange - Caves.mp3 [...]

With the release of New Memory in July, Portland's Malcom Lacey, recording as Arrange, will have turned in six albums in two years. Routing his affectingly shaky voice through strong drone work and buried piano ... read more
