Each day I go through multiple music submissions from up-and-coming artists, as well as their managers and fans. Planet Verge and Sweet Avenue Bake Shop have announced that they are now accepting artists submissions to perform at this year's Cupcakefest. The event will take place on June 18th

MEKKA MEKKA is something of a fuel injected approach to the early morning party scene; it is the rush of rails offered by the sexiest thing in the loft before she walks away with that heartbreaking smile. Aztech's a kick in the nuts... It's glitch and grind is hard hitting, and firmly placed off the electro grid. MEKKA MEKKA is Colin Sims, and Brandon Sprouse (Seize The Night, undeadisco). - by Paul Revered undeadisco MYSPACE.COM/MKKAMKKA Download audio file (Mekka Mekka - Aztech.mp3) [...]
They've come a long way since Mikey Digitz and Yo Ev first sat down and talked about the idea of forming an Electro duo around February of last year. Having played massive shows in Toronto and Montreal, opening for major international music and headlining in their own right, this duo is getting a lot of love and support on their home turf (The video is from their road trip to Montreal to play with The Bloody Beetroots). This storm is about to travel far and wide to a city near you. Considering their remix of Barletta's Panther was charted by [...]
Golden Gloves have been the leading local DJs in London, Ontario's emerging electronic music scene over the course of almost a year and half. They've also become staple local DJs in the city of Toronto. One of the artists who got an official release for the SalaciousSound Remix Compeition Panther EP and the producers behind my favorite Hold the Line remix, this duo is poised for bigger and better things in 2010. With out further ado, here is what Ben had to say about music in 2009 _____________________ Thinking back on an entire year of music [...]
Well this list was hard. Last year I did a top 20, this year it's a top 10 + 10. The top 10 will not be ranked, however there will be two tiers, my top 10 and my +10. This list probably doesn't even include everything; I've probably missed songs that I like more than some of the songs on the list. I lost a lot of music this year with the crashing of my hard drive into a metaphorical wall. In any case I went through my iTunes and pulled out a handful of the songs that hit me [...]

Grandtheft, from Team Canada DJs, sent over a couple of remixes today. He decided to tackle the ever so popular the XX as well as take on Erol and Boys Noize. Adding a big kick, a bouncy bassline and soft synths he brings the XX up a notch for DJs who want to bring the their sweet sounding vocals to the dance floor. His take on Death Suite is lighter than the original in my opinion, great bassline and some cool chopped up samples are perfect to keep the dancefloor going with something a little deeper. The most [...]

Conor Cutz has become the go to DJ for events in Waterloo Ontario, Jack Black (as a part of Black and Yellow) has being tearing up clubs in the same area. They recently remixed Wonderwall be Oasis. Music snobs might not show it love when listening I can imagine the reaction it gets when these selectors drop it in their respective home towns. . Girls yelling "Woooo", guys throwing their beers in the air, and the crowd getting down to Electronic music. The production quality on this track is higher than the last few things I've received from Conor and [...]
If you don't know Zeds Dead by now, you must be under a fuckin rock musically. From opening up for: Jack Beats, Kill the Noise, 12th Planet, Felix Cartal, and Bombaman to their MONSTER remix of Barletta's "Panther" that dropped mid summer on Intellegenix, these guys have been non-stop blowing up everything they touch. That's a large feat considering they kicked things off as a group at the beginning of the summer... But it doesn't stop there. Now Hooks and DC have yet another accomplishment to be proud of. Their remix of Blue Foundation's [...]
Click for MySpace The winners of our Emma Lee Remix Competition sent me this new track called Mudslide. With some heavy bass and an interesting melody the track tends to blur boundaries between Hip Hop, Electro and Dubstep. Big Deal? Yes or no? You can check them out live this weekend in Montreal (Where I will be heading for the weekend) with Grandtheft from Team Canada DJs on Thursday @ 1234 and Friday for McGill's Watercan Halloween alongside our friends Golden Gloves. Since they are playing for a college town I've also attached a track they [...]

A nice little dancefloor fun for you to pick up. The American Dream Team released this track which covers INOJ's "I Want to Be Your Lady". It was released on September 29th on iTunes and Beatport. Easy dancefloor fun that will hit with the masses and make them move. The American Dream Team have been crafting the type of electronic music that bridges the gap between The Black Eyed Peas, MSTRKRFT, and Justice. This one will definitely help DJs looking to make people move to Electro who don't know who those last two artists are. [...]
