After what was a fairly tumultuous 2011 for Louisville band Nerves Junior they've shaped up instead of shipping out, putting pen to paper and writing new material. Their debut album As Bright As Your Night Light was well-received across the board, placing 12th on our own best albums of 2011 list , and today they've revealed the first new track since then. "Goodnight Nobody" will appear on their new Craters EP, due out on February [...]

So we typically toss a video onto a post when highlighting a new band or a show preview or something and let you draw your own conclusion about it. Sometimes we throw a change-up... strike that - let’s call it a round up. Most of these videos are of bands we have previously talked about here on Draw Us Lines, so we won’t be telling you much about those bands themselves, just some musings that really aren’t worth a damn. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. Hold on to your hats! [...]

If you haven't been downright impressed with the overflow of incredible genre crossing music this year you are either a huge Nickleback fan or you are Amish, there's no other logical excuse to complain about the status of music. Last year when I put the "Best Albums" list together it was one of the first [...]

September came and went. It’s already cold as balls outside, but it’s been a big couple of months here at Sirens of Decay. We got a new layout recently, added some new widgets to the sidebar to incorporate a few more features. My son turned a year old, I went back to school, and I haven’t even gotten started on the music! More music came through the pipes than we could possibly sort out, but we did try. To cap it all off, we thought we’d roll back the tape and tell you our top songs and albums [...]
Nerves Junior’s video for the awesome track “Kale”. While it wasn’t our favorite from As Bright As Your Night Light, it is a damn good song. The video is a bit meh, but worth watching just for another listen.
Our own Zach has been blowing up the internet airwaves this week more than the Maryland football unis due to his gorgeous work on Nerves Junior 's "Kale." He's garnered write ups on Pretty Much Amazing , You Ain't No Picasso , Consequence of Sound , and Listen Before You Buy . It's a no brainer considering how amazing this track is and Zach's directorial work bringing the ladies to the show and watching them slowly take over a band that's new album is one of the highlights of the year. So [...]

Tweet Purchase the album - Amazon / iTunes / Bandcamp We featured Nerves Junior as Ones To Watch last month and hosted a listening party on Turntable.fm, along with three other blogs, to preview their debut album "As Bright As Your Night Light". Though that album is only coming out today [September 6th], many of you will already be aware that it's damn good. [...]

Certainly you've been hearing the Backseat Sandbar crew talking about how much we love Nerves Junior. Well, the time has come for the world to hear their debut full length - As Bright As Your Night Light, and if I have any say in things, the world will absolutely love it. I know I do. So with that, I am super happy to tell you that for their album release, Nerves Junior will be playing a special show at Headliners on Saturday, September 3. Joining them will be Murals, and an after show DJ set with DJ Jason Shelton. All [...]

Nerves Junior - "As Bright As Your Night Light" Release Date: Sept 6th, 2011 Label: SonaBlast Records In 2000, Radiohead showed us the future in musical form withtheir album Kid A . From the textures of each song to the imagery conjured upfrom the lyrics, the album somehow felt otherworldly. There simply wasn’tanything else like it at the time, and, amazingly enough, in the years thatfollowed, there still wasn’t [...]
We wrote about Nerves Junior just the other day , and I was excited. I thought “Kale” was an awesome track. I was wrong. Well, I wasn’t wrong about “Kale” being awesome…it’s just that for my tastes “As Bright As Your Night Light” is even better. The real question is how did I miss this track? I dig the huge sound - it starts out with a bit of an 8-bit beat and acapella vocals and then the hammer drops, the gong sounds and I have a date with my iPhone and a set of headphones for [...]
So, not too long ago, my man Deuce B, brought to you this band with their title song off of Nerves Junior's upcoming album, titled As Bright as Your Night Light, well I'm here to bring you another tasty lick off of that album entitled "Kale." This song is a little bit darker feeling but relatively similar to the song posted prior, so if you dug that, check this one out. If you like both of these

Tweet Sometimes labelling a band 'One To Watch' can be a bit of a gamble. They might only have a promising EP, or a mighty good single. Not so with Nerves Junior : we've got a preview copy of their debut album, and it's killer. The album, called "As Bright As Your Night Light", isn't out until September 6th, but, so you don't have to just take my word for it, we can share two tracks with you right now. One of them [...]

If you take a glance over at WLFY's Top 50 Albums Of 2011 (on-running list) you'll see a debut LP from a rather unknown band called Nerves Junior in the two spot. I was lucky enough to snag a promo copy of their debut "As Bright As Your Night Light" a few weeks back and it's all I've played since. The standout track for me has always been "Kale" which teeters on steady cockiness and explosive passion. What makes Nerves Junior special are the twists and turns of their songs. While they [...]
This one is an awesome combo of electronic, indie rock and psych rock. Nerves Junior definitely have an interesting sound, and I'm super glad they ended up in my inbox. On the heels of releasing their debut album, As Bright As Your Night Light, these guys seem poised to impose themselves, forcefully, on the national indie music scene. I can't wait to see how far they go. Check out their press

Radical Dads and Nerves Jr . are playing the Zanzabar on June 29th!! This is one of those shows that you can't miss. Radical Dads is coming in from NYC and have quite the pedigree (see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah). They just released their debut album a week ago on Uninhabitable Mansions ( check it out here ). One listen and you will be hooked. Zanzabar may explode. To sweeten the mix, locals Nerves Jr. are opening. We've had our eye on this band [...]

There's not much to be known about Nerves Junior other than that they're a 5 piece out of Louisville, Kentucky and they make some fantastic dark synth rock. There's no album and there's no EP, there's just this one solitary single. "As Bright As Your Night Light" is a great jumping off point for this band. If they have the ability to reproduce the same energy and drive into a full length album then they might be on the verge of something big. As Bright As Your Night Light by Nerves Junior
