Mayer Hawthorne just played two NYC shows earlier this week and while here, he performed a new track called "Gonna Take a Long Time." The video is sub par but the audio really makes me anxious for the 2011 follow up to A Strange Arrangement . To commemorate the kick-off of his Mazda2Music Tour , Los Angeles based soul artist Mayer Hawthorne has finally released the Classixx produced track that he's been hinting at through Twitter the last couple of days. "No Strings" is a good new offering from the artist, a small departure from the old school sound of his hit debut record A Strange Arrangement in that it is heavily electronic instrumentally. Woke up this morning to two new treats from the Mayer Hawthorne camp! The first is a reggae remix of the Anne Arbor native's "Maybe So, Maybe No" with production by MATO. This release was in celebration of Mayer reaching 16,000 fans on twitter! This cut from A Strange Arrangement is no different, except this time Hawthorne hops into the dance sequence (1:27). Looks like it was a fun video. Enjoy boys; it's definitely for you.
