Korallreven has sometimes been characterized as "ambient" music - which, if you only listened to the first ten seconds of their songs, you might think too. In reality, their sound is a carefully composed and constructed electronic-choral (now there's a genre I'd like to hear more of) soundscape. It's not without direction, either: the Swedish duo works in a percussive drive that doesn't allow the music to feel aimless. Korallreven are aSwedish duo that make the sort of music that only Swedes seem to be able to - rich and tropical yet also strangely icy and detached. The pair definitely share a sound with the likes of Air France and The Tough Alliance but come at things from a more a fully dance orientated direction.
