An Album and a Song is a semi-weekly series where I pick a favorite album and song from a year (starting in 1960) for your listening pleasure. One rule: The year's album and song can not both come from the same artist. Like many albums at the time, Etta James debut LP, At Last! was more of a compilation of her current singles then an album as we think of it today. Nevertheless, At Last! is [...]

Choosing your favorite love song is no easy task. Do you dig in your memory for that nostalgic gem of teenage tenderness, or stick with the song that soundtracked your last kiss? Which passion do you prefer: gushing exuberance or deep longing? Or perhaps you have a soft spot for cultural impact. I asked my fellow ATG writers to choose their favorite love song of all time and share with the world what makes it THE ONE. Find out what we had to say after the jump. [...]
![[Video] Michael Christmas: “At Last”](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4702031_lg.jpg)
"No one listened to sh*t that would come off my tongue / ‘Til I picked up a mic and they gave me some drums." Michael Christmas is a talented up-and-comer hailing from Boston who recently released his debut project Fuck An EP via The Fresh Heir and an accompany visual for "At Last". Christmas worked several months to get the best body of work possible, carefully choosing crisp instrumentals and spitting some of the most entertaining and relatable rhymes I've heard in a minute, making the final result a very interesting listen. Os temas "So Many Things, So Little Time" e "True Colours", foram gravados nos Estúdios Sá da Bandeira, com o produtor João Brandão. São os sons da nova indie pop lusa; sons do Norte. ATLAST - "This [...]
We first came to know 18 year old Aussie DJ/producer Walden when Pete Tong featured his huge single " Brightness " on Radio 1. He then followed it up with his playful Mario Theme remix . We're pleased to say that Walden has been back in the studio and has two new tracks that will be available for free soon. Check out the previews below. You're going to like what you hear! Walden - At Last (Preview) "At Last" is a big progressive house track that features a whiny intro that leads into a [...]

And in case you didn't quite capture it I've slowed it down and gifed it up, the XTINA AGUILERA bleeding love at the ETTA JAMES' funeral earlier today.
The XTINA AGUILERA was showing some love at the late ETTA JAMES's funeral, singing the she-singer's classis 'At Last' mp3. And if you look close enough you'll see some liquid (read tampon malfunction) dripping down the AGUILERA 's leg.
An EP called At Last? No shit, Picture Book . We have been waiting for these guys to get a release up together FOREVER. We think there's been a bit of a delay on the release because vocalist Greta has been off warbling on a Deadmau5 tune and getting Grammy nominations (excuses, excuses). Anyway, it was worth the wait, as lead track 'Sunshine' proves: Picture Book 'Sunshine': Why this is a self-release when it's clearly such a hit-in-waiting is anyone's guess, [...]
Rest in Peace Etta James.

Legendary blues singer Etta James who is most famous for her rendition of "At Last" has passed away. Etta is one of the movers and shakers of pop history and no diva is the same without her legacy. Beyonce played her in Cadillac Records and she revolutionized her genre to another level. Sad to hear of her passing. She has passed away at the age of 73. Blues and jazz legend Etta James died early this morning in Southern California’s Riverside Community Hospital from complications with leukemia. She was 73 (and would’ve turned 74 next Wednesday). James, singer of the famed ‘At Last’, began her career at just 16 years old during the 1950s. Since 1989, she has received over 30 awards and recognitions from organizations including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She [...]

Over the course of spring and summer, I feel like I've already attended enough weddings to fulfill some sort of lifetime achievement award. As most people say, "I'm at that age", that age when it seems like everyone is either getting married, recently married, or making their first offspring. Frequent wedding goers will reluctantly agree with me when I say that our favorite pastime at weddings and wedding receptions is to judge the shit out of every little detail. Come on, we all do it. Don't try to lie to my face and tell me you aren't talking trash about [...]

Etta James is one of the last pure R&B singers alive today. She has influenced countless artists and her impact can definitely be heard in today’s singers (Adele, Jennifer Hudson, Amy Winehouse). Known best for her powerful torch songs “At Last” and “Trust In Me,” this latest compilation album, The Essential Modern Records Collection , is not only great for those unfamiliar with James’ early recordings, but it’s also a wonderful stroll down memory lane for those who grew up during the heyday of rock n roll. “The Wallflower (aka Roll [...]

Etta Smith adds another dimension to her songs by accompanying them with her piano playing talents. She's been singing from a very early age & listening to a variety of music, including the inspiring northern soul singers from her dad’s collection of records, not to mention the 70’s disco tapes her mam would play in the car on the way to school. In the past year or so however, she decided to start writing songs using her piano in the dining room and then went on to perform at small local gigs, which she found thoroughly enjoyable. [...]

Have you ever heard of hype? You know, that minor stipulation that keeps all your favorite artists off the radio and the regular, sometimes undeserving, 140 characters being plastered in the general public's faces instead. In a perfect world, good music doesn't fall on deaf ears, but since there are too many artists aiming to jump through the same window, the shards of glass may have hindered the easy access to the diamonds in the rough. None the matter; good music is eternal you see. Even in hindsight, the musical qualities that can accompany [...]

For every Hip-Hop luminary that masters the genre and provides hit after critical, popular hit, there are bottom-feeder rappers who could fill silos with their respective clichés. White, female, auto-tone—these are just a few of the labels that have been designated as career-killing scarlet letters that inevitably create more acrimony than ascension for the MCs who embody them. However, there are the rare exceptions that personify one—if not several—of these categories and rise well above the lowest rung of rap’s food chain. Silk-Anne Semiramis Dawn Craig Kaya, or more commonly known as Eternia , is White, [...]
by poe ► It's always nice to have an excuse to post some sweet songs. Thankfully I've come across some sugary and thoughtful tracks in recent weeks so now it's time to share. Up first is "At Last" by The Dø . Founded in Paris in 2005, the band lists themselves as a French and Finnish indie pop outfit. The music is touching and a wonderful soundtrack to a life in transition. [...]

Considering the renewed interest in the female rapper, you'd think Eternia & MoSS would shove their advantageous disposition in the faces of all who passed by. But that's not what Hip-Hop is about and neither are these two qualified professionals. Hailing from two different spots on the map, learn how an accomplished musician and domineering wordsmith crossed paths to create At Last , their first LP together. Eternia & MoSS. A duo who present challenging answers to coincide with the questions themselves. Intrigued yet? [...]
