Earlier today, Atoms For Peace, the Thom Yorke super group that includes Joey Waronker (drums), Mauro Refosco (percussion), Flea (bass) and Nigel Goodrich (production & programming) released the first studio recording to date off their upcoming album (still to be named). The single, entitled "Default" features heavy polyrhythmic layering and Yorke's familiar crooning vocals. Atoms For Peace is a side project that Thom Yorke is working on with RHCP's Flea and Radiohead frequent producer Nigel Godrich . It's been talked about for what seems like forever now, but today a track called "Default" has hit the web. It sounds like most music Yorke puts out, so nothing too mind blowing here. I dig it, but would like to hear more. And they should let Flea put more of his touch on future tracks.
