Fresh off the news that an At The Drive-In reunion is taking place, the Mars Volta have announced their sixth studio album Noctourniquet which will be released March 27th by Warner Bros. The album's 13-track narrative was inspired by '80s UK alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacithus. So even though At The Drive-In is reuniting this year , The Mars Volta are still putting out new music. In this case, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala will release the band's sixth album, Noctourniquet , on March 27th. According to a press release from the band, the new album has 13 tracks and was inspired by "disparate elements including '80s UK alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus."
