When you first press play on the new single from AU , you get the feeling that it's going to be that sort of sprawling track that ambles on and on, but you'll soon learn that there's more to it than that, as the band jumps off into a quick paced romp of their own liking. Portland experimental pop act AU will release its third full-length album, Both Lights , on April 3rd via Hometapes. According to a press release, the album's 11 tracks are a reaction to the time between their last album, 20082s Verbs , and their subsequent lives and careers. Ce truc est sorti en 2010, je me vois bien encore l'écouter l'année prochaine.AU - Guild

Much like how sarcasm is lost on some so will Au be but what a loss for the confused. This track is all of 2 years old and is taken from the Portland duo's last release, the 'Versions' EP. Even in the grand recitals provided by Au this is a dramatic piece of songwriting that centres on Luke Wyland's costume change to falsetto and out of it while the spangly guitars do their best to garnish them. It is quite a feast for audio senses but then that is Au's food and drink, the irony of which is not lost [...]
Soft Landing remain somewhat elusive, but the members' experiences are never in question. Frontman Paul Collins is part of the traveling circus that is Beirut. And so is Perrin Cloutier, who Collins recruited just as Soft Landing passed its preliminary stage. Mike Lawless, Collins' friend from college, later rounded out the trio as they began [...]

It's the battle of North vs South when both State Social and Club AU DJs take to the decks tonight at this Hard Working Class Heroes festival. It all kicks off upstairs in the Workman's Club after the bands have finished, running till 2.30am, with our own Loreana Rushe representing the State massive and Jonny Tiernan in the AU corner. It's like the Ryder Cup, but with records.
