The big news here is not that the rights to HBO's beloved Jim Henson show Fraggle Rock was won at auction by New Regency , it's that they seem keen to get this property launched as a movie series aimed at families. That's great. My guess would be the franchise's future depends entirely on how The Muppets does this Thanksgiving. If Disney's movie does well, we'll see a Fraggle Rock movie using puppets fairly soon. If it doesn't, we might get a CGI cartoon or some basterdized version of the Fraggles who knows when.

After completing some home improvements earlier this year, beloved Ukrainian Village venue The Empty Bottle is now auctioning off pieces of its old bathroom walls and hardwood floors for charity tonight. The Bottle is hosting "Pee It Forward: Protect Your Liver, Protect Your Table - An Empty Bottle 'Art Coaster Auction'" beginning at 6:30 p.m. to raise money for the American Liver Foundation.
