Every August, thousands of music lovers descend muddily onto Little John's Farm, Richfield Avenue, to celebrate the spectacle that is Reading Festival. A varied musical extravaganza, the 3-day event is annually cram-packed full with the biggest bands from across the planet. Today, TGTF will be taking a look back at the highs and lows of this year's fest, which took place just days ago over the satisfactorily-sunny bank holiday weekend. Friday saw fiery haired frontlady, Florence and the Machine (pictured right), celebrate her 22nd birthday in style as she took [...]
We've had Glatsonbury, T in the Park, Wireless, Isle of Wight, hundreds of smaller festivals, and it's almost the end of the summer. That can only mean one thing - it's time for the Granddaddy of all UK music festivals (well, probably second to Glasto), the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The dual site, three day festival sees almost 200 artists grace the sites in Reading's Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park in Leeds this bank holiday weekend, 28th - 30th August. Kings of Leon (pictured [...]

Gang of Four have already proven themselves to be one of the most important bands of the past 30 years, being pivotal influences for generations of bands such as Bloc Party, Foals, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand and many, many more. Now they've reformed, including the core original duo of Jon King and Andy Gill, and to celebrate they're playing a super special show next Monday (24th August) at a secret venue in central London - and we have a pair of tickets for one lucky person to win . And if getting some tickets [...]
A special edition sneak attack on my favorite blogs that I follow. Using my special ninja skills I was able to steal these mp3's without a trace!! (Do not worry, no one blood was shed in the process) These is only part 1 of a series of many. It is 2009 and just about anyone can start a music blog (myself included), however, only a few have been consistent post after post with great music recommendations. We we initially posted this Track of the Week for the BETA version of the site, Bryan Black from Motor left a comment saying that he remembers being there/helping work on the mix. Amber Rose has quickly made a name for herself in the entertainment industry; greatly due to her unique aesthetic but more so because of Kanye West. In the August/September issue of Complex magazine Amber is featured in a 1-page editorial entitled "Women Are Complex, Too". She speaks about her career in modeling, her relationship with Kanye West and more. On Her rough childhood: Like gun violence, drug dealers, nowhere safe for the kids to play. In the schoolyard people were drinking 40s, smoking weed. I [...]
Boppers here is a HOT tune, fresh off the Bopizm Vol. 1 mix. I don't know about you, but I've wanted to have this in my collection for awhile and I'm glad Felix was kind enough to pick it out for our .:Track of the Week:. section. This song leaves me speechless so instead of trying to pretend otherwise and fill up space in this blog, I'll just let the music speak for itself: Download audio file (miraclebogdonirkuk.mp3) Sally Shapiro- Miracle (Bogdon Irkuk remix).mp3 [...]
The very persistent and beautiful Keri Hilson, in collaboration with Complex and So-Me, shares the August/September issue of the magazine with Kid CuDi. She speaks candidly about her less-than-quick rise to success, her songwriting career amongst other things. Might we add she does turn the temperature up a few notches with her photoshoot. On her first 'big' income: My very first check was for Ruben Studdard's first album, like $25,000. And my family was like, "What the hell is this? This is what you've been doing? Who the hell brings home [...]
KiD Cudi, in collaboration with Complex and Augor, covers the August/September issue of the magazine. This marks the first time the emcee has truly opened up; about his life back in Detroit, some of his experiences before and after becoming 'KiD CuDi, and his musical projects. On repeating the success of "Day N Nite": I was briefly, and then I started to record and just make shit. That's when I realized I'm going to be OK. Shit is going to come together as it should, don't worry about it. I didn't [...]
It's undeniable that V Festival is a lot more commerical than other music festival's across the country, and while the bash has certainly recieved the odd bit of criticism for it's uber radio-friendly line up, the fest is no less fun in our eyes. Certainly - going by the awesome line-up, it's unsurprising that the event managed to sell out in just two hours this year. The summer bash - which is happening on Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd August - will be taking place across it's two usual sites this '09: [...]
No doubt some of you will have noticed that U2 announced a shiny new stadium tour for later this year, calling at some of our biggest stadiums this August. Bono and co will play surrounded by the audience on a specially designed stage. It's got a 360 degree video wall, and looks like the whole thing will be "in the round". Full details are on their tour website . Tickets go on sale priced between £27 and £87 each on next Friday, 20th March. Catch the Irish lads at: [...]
