Melbourne club heavy-weights, Trumpdisco have just uploaded their first music video. A sampled, psychedelic hallucinogen, mashed with some of their own footage. We've got line-dancers, a confused and angry baldy-man, and what appears to be some sort of ho-down slash hootenanny, led by The Prospector from Toy Story 2, post crack binge. The track itself 'Cut & Paste' is an acidic electro house trip. Ride. > TRUMPDISCO > AIRWOLF VIDEO | Trump Disco - Cut & Paste Feat. Airwolf [...]

Wow. Sydney duo Phondupe have blown me away with this track. Think Portishead via Little Dragon. 'Aviary West' is a cushy trip hop adventure. Seriously relaxing stuff, like lounging around on a jazz cloud. Shimmering chords trickle over that lazy beat. Terrific vocal. REVIEWER: Duncan Jake. SHOOTER: Ben Davies [ view gallery ] So there I was… Standing outside the side alley of Transit Bar. Such a beautiful balmy night, I was glad to be spending it in the company of some live music. Wanting to catch the start of Millions (JJJ Unearthed Splendour In The Grass 2011) I continued down into the guts of the bar, just shy of 9pm. I could already hear the squawk of an amped up guitar accompanied by the well-timed crash of cymbals. Had Millions started already? No. It [...]

Hoops have done Katy B a favour with this remix. They have added a dose of substance. Now at an RnB sway, offering re-worked synth parts that pulse throughout the chorus and percussive detail, transforming this middle-of-the-road pop song into a sensual groove with a personality. The production now matches the vibe of the melody and lyrics. Slick. > HOOPS DOWNLOAD | Katy B - Broken Record (HOOPS remix) Posted by Celebrity Sex Tape.

I was a huge fan of Expatriate's debut EP (‘Lovers Le Strange,’ 2005) and the album that followed 2 years later was amazing. But aside from an Aria nomination (I think?) it didn’t receive the recognition it deserved. So after moving to Berlin, they signed with PIAS, re-released the album, built a substantial European fanbase and now 4 years on are finally releasing new material. ‘Miracle Mile,' the first single to be lifted from ‘Hyper/Hearts’, combines the best moments of their debut – the pop hooks of ‘Crazy’ and experimentation of ‘Are You Awake.’ [...]

gotye feat kimbra - somebody that i used to know [the current #1 song on the australian charts (going 6x platinum since it's release in july), singer/songwriter wouter de backer (aka gotye) is one of those grassroots phenomenons that has slowly crept his way up to the charts based on word of mouth and little (then) airplay. definitely one of the quirkiest breakup songs i've heard in awhile, this is easily the best song of the week for me!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

Almost nothing better than a boisterous 90s style house vocal to lift your spirits. Diane Charlemagne brings the wail on the Aquasky original which is a fidgety dubstep drop. Sydney's Diamond Lights has the waves of piano crashing against a nimble house kit. Uplifting. > DIAMOND LIGHTS STREAM | Aquasky - You Take Me There feat. Diane Charlemagne (Diamomd Lights Remix)
Click image to download full album Song: Strange Talk - Sexual Lifestyle "Strange Talk - Sexual Lifestyle" What's so good? I find it quite surprising that Strange Talk has yet to release a full-length album. Why? Well, exactly one year ago today, we posted their single "Eskimo Boy," and in doing so, hypothesized that they'd be releasing a full-length some time in 2011. Looks like we were wrong. "Sexual Lifestyle" is the first single to be released in [...]

Some friends of ours have recently taken the plunge and created a new and exciting online fashion destination - It Is Isn't It - founded by Gerry Wilton and cousin Dana Samson. The two are on a mission to connect up and coming and established designers with fashion savvy individuals. The boutique currently has six brands on board and are set to take on more for the new year. With a November launch imminent, the sartorial duo have styled a cute and quirky, dream-pop video that has been doing the rounds lately, introducing the iiii vibe. Nicely done. [...]

Channel [V]'s Free Sh!t Men have a Facebook 'Like' campaign that money can't buy. Since the launch of their viral series, Josh and Stephen have managed to scam swags and swags of free shit: from Brazilian wax-jobs to Halloween costumes; from glamor shots to a free coffin! I guess it was inevitable that their grifting efforts would eventually turn to pursue one of the oldest known professions... prostitution. THE CHALLENGE: If they can accumulate 3000 Likes on their facebook page they have vowed to *try* to get themselves some free tang from a lady of the night for [...]

Flume has notched up an excellent remix of New Navy's 'Zimbabwe'. He's achieved quite an organic vibe to this haunting, dream-pop soundscape that glides along effortlessly to a lazy hip hop beat. Tidy. > FLUME STREAM: New Navy - Zimbabwe (Flume remix) Posted by Celebrity Sex Tape.
For those of you who live in Indy, how great has the music been in this town over the last few weeks? I'm having issues with my camera's memory card which, thanks to a little help from Amazon I think it should be resolved mid next week. I can't believe the last time I posted [...]

A handy little extended edit from Elly K. I finally had a chance to catch up with Elly K in Canberra on the weekend - her passion for fit disco records shines through about 10 times more when you get to have a proper conversation with her. This Stargaze tune has it all - playful piano flirting with a cheeky guitar riff, and some old school bass and percush - and a hot, soulful wail. The good old extended edit - Elly K wants us all to savour this track. Well played. Free download - enjoy! [...]

This years Foreshore 2011 will now come complete with a tropical themed 'Tiki Terrace' repping a wealth of diversity in its performers, and headed up by breakthrough Unearthed artist Jinja Safari. After winning the Triple J Unearthed Splendour In The Grass back in 2010, Jinja Safari wasted no time in impressing us all with their wind-swept Afro-pop. Their sound is as distinct as it is original -- a real credit to Australian live music. They were the first band on that Splendour 2010 bill that I heard/saw my friends rave on about online during the festival and then continue to [...]

Melbourne dude ARESS has a remix of the bootylicious Nicki Minaj and her cotton-candy rhymes. The vocal key of 'Super Bass' doesn't seem to be the very best fit for the key of the production (only in some parts), but the actual vocal track sits quite nicely on top of that disco house groove - I'm really digging those mellow piano chords. Cool choice of remix. > ARESS DOWNLOAD | Nicki Minaj - Super Bass (ARESS Remix) Posted by Celebrity Sex Tape.

Happy days. Sweat It Out have some new home-grown and freshly squeezed talent joining the ranks. What So Not (Emoh Instead and Flumeville) have an impressively diverse and well-rounded EP dropping soon. They seem to achieve in 4 tracks what many albums fail to achieve in 12. Weird, I know. But credit where credit is due. The title tune '7 Dollar Bill' is a macho number, repping call-and-response percussion, switching between various industrial tones, drums and stunted sirens. Bad ass. 'Love Theme' immediately checks the mood into to a deep, techy vibe with a tropical flavour. [...]
