One of the godfathers of English electronic music Mark Reeder recently dropped a bunch of new reMixes for Bad Lieutenant 's new single 'Twist Of Fate'. Bad Lieutenant is, of course, New Order's Bernard Sumner (one of my favourite male vocalists)'s current outfit. They originally released 'Twist Of Fate' back in March last year but have brought out a reMix package earlier this month that features two mixes from Mr. Reeder, and neither of them are this one! That's three reMixes of the same song, all used by the original artist, now that's [...]

Bad Lieutenant - Twist Of Fate (Reeder's No Fate Radio Remix)
Nick Cage is one of the greatest actors of our generation. If this isn't evidence of that then I don't know what it is. Powerhouse performance.

Bernard Sumner , Hot Chip & Hot City : Didn't Know What Love Was - MP3 Souvenez-vous, au début de l'été, la marque Converse associait Best Coast , Rostam Batmanglij & Kid Cudi autour du titre All Summer . Pour la saison automne-hiver, ils ont rassemblé Bernard Sumner de Bad Lieutenant , New Order et Joy Division , Alexis Taylor et Joe Goddard de [...]
While the Kid Cudi/Best Coast/Rostam Batmanglij collaboration for Converse was a nice summer treat , the shoe company's next offering is one for the ages. Via Gigwise.com , Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard of Hot Chip have come together with New Order/Bad Lieutenant's Bernard Sumner for a song entitled "I Didn't Know What Love Was". We don't know what love is, but we have a pretty good idea of what amazing could be. The track, one of two available for tomorrow for free download, are part of a [...]

A helpful hint about music festivals: try as you may to see every single band you've ticked off the set schedule weeks before you've even set foot on the property, you're going to miss some, because you're either 1) hungry, 2) thirsty, 3) drunk or 4) just plain tired. While I admit to succumbing to #2 (it was hot, much hotter than it normally is in Denmark) and #4 (the only explanation for Day 2's epic oversleep), all things considered I was in pretty good shape for Saturday, especially after getting to bed at a decent hour the night [...]
Bernard Sumner. The mere mention of his name conjures up the dusty pages of rock's past. But if the history books were for me to write, I'd be sure there was a large mention of Sumner's latest project, Bad Lieutenant starring Sumner himself, fellow ex-New Order member Phil Cunningham and ex-Marion guitarist Jake Evans, who shares lead vocal duties in the band with Sumner. For someone who's been in the music media on and off for more years than I have been alive on this planet, Sumner cuts an imposing figure. [...]

The third day of a four-day festival is often potentially the best – your body has got used to the abuse of late nights, constant standing and perhaps one or two more beverages than normal. Here at Roskilde there's also an influx of one-day ticket holders who have been waiting until the weekend to arrive. Put all this into the mix with one of Denmark's most lauded new bands, The Rumour Said Fire (by now you can spot a Danish band by name alone, right?) and put them in the mid-sized [...]
Manchester, so much to answer for. Most of it pretty good to be fair. Tonight may have been an Ian Brown gig in name but with a expanded supporting bill and 'homecoming' tag, it was set up as a celebration of the city's musical heritage. All of which means that the local, partisan crowd are here for that unique mix of indie and dance, with an awful lot of bravado thrown in. The Whip are obviously keenly aware of this history and show no desire to divert from its path. Mixing - yes - indie and dance they're [...]
The choice of Bad Lieutenant to release "Twist of Fate" as its second single seems laughably appropriate given the three-some's inability to perform in the States. Originally released on the band's October 2009 debut, Never Cry Another Tear , Bernarnd Sumner sings, "My hopes that once were so high/Were crushed and broken." Incidentally foreshadowing the sentiments felt by New Order/Joy Division fans upon the November (2009) and April (2010) news that Bad Lieutenant's US shows were indefinitely canceled. Bad Lieutenant decided t0 provide fans with an emotional band-aid, a contest to create the [...]

Manchester's Parklife festival has sold out in just 6 weeks, the festival will take place at Platt fields on June 12th and will see a international line-up including Booka Shade, Vitalic, Friendly Fire, Calvin Harris and many more who will be performing at the new festival. On the friday will see the home-coming event for former Stone Roses frontman and uber Mancunian Ian Brown, who will be performing with the likes of Unkle, Bad Lieutenant, Peter Hook, Mike Pickering and Factory Records' legendary A Certain Ratio who will all take to the stage in front of an adoring 15,000 strong crowd. Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News The Icelandic volcano might have prevented UK bands Bad Lieutenant and Two Door Cinema Club from making their scheduled appearances in Chicago this week, but British group Echo and the Bunnymen , who were already in the States to play Coachella last weekend, showed up at Metro in Chicago Wednesday night without a hitch. "It's nice to be back in Chicago," sunglasses-clad lead singer Ian McCulloch mumbled to the crowded house, most of which [...]
"We're stuck in Manchester... We were hoping that conditions might change at the last minute and we'd be able to come and play for our fans. Obviously, this is a situation out of everyone's control, and we are crushed that we won't be coming to America for these dates." - Bad Lieutenant frontman Bernard Sumner announces that his band's upcoming U.S. tour, which included a spot at last weekend's Coachella Music Festival, has been canceled. This marks the second time in as many years that the U.K. outfit has been forced [...]
