Against all odds, Drew asks Liz out, but since she has the show on Friday, they have to make it a Saturday date. On Valentine's Day. She opts to make him cheese stew in her apartment. It normally takes me an hour and a half to get one of these recaps done, and (as my posting schedule indicates), I don't have that kind of time anymore. Jack is in Liz's office, telling her about his gig as keynote speaker at the GE Six Sigma Retreat to Move Forward in Croton-on-Hudson (which is where real GE training is done). Liz recalls performing at corporate retreats during her improv days with Jenna. Jack is apprehensive; he hasn't seen much of these people since Geiss went into his coma and Jack joined the Bush administration. I don't usually post about music here, but I'm extremely excited about Neko Case's new album, Middle Cyclone which comes out on March 3. The first single, "People Got a Lotta Nerve" is most excellent, all jangly guitars and vocal harmonies. Liz is trying to convince the rest of the TGS staff to participate in the " Letters to Santa " campaign in order to bury her feelings over the rest of her family heading to Arizona for the holidays. Frank protests that they've already done their charity work by pitching in to get Sue a bra, which she shows off. Kenneth offers to take one of the letters, since he enjoys helping the less fortunate. Toofer, incredulously: "Where do find them?" Kenneth: "There are these Nigerians on the internet that help me." Kenneth gives Liz her messages as she comes into work: The bike tour company in South Carolina says "No singles", her credit card company wants to make sure she's the one buying cream soda in bulk, her landlord says that the toilet isn't faulty, and Gene from her high school reunion comittee wants to know if she'll be coming. Kenneth urges her to go, and we get a flashback to his reunion featuring a comely lass named Taniqua. Tracey wants her to go, since you can get back at anyone who ever messed with you. Cut [...]

Jack's taking a call, so Jonathan is forced to run interference when Liz walks in. He tells her that Jack will be multitasking his conversation with her. Liz explains to Jack that she's going to need some time off to fly back to Chicago for jury duty (she never changed her address because she wanted to vote in a swing state...and stay on the mailing list at Chicago Pizza Explosion).
