I had a cheese burger for lunch yesterday at OHSO and got food poisoning. That's right OHSO located in Phoenix Arizona will give you food poisoning. So, I'm stuck on my couch today being sick as fuck. Ok i'll stop with my sob story... That's not the only illness happening today though. G-Eazy teamed up with partner in crime Devon Baldwin for this loosie entitled MAD . G continues his effort to break musical boundaries on this one. Check it out for sure... [...]

I've always enjoyed the old school style that G-Eazy uses in his music and his new track "Mad" that just dropped is no exception, even though it seems to be all original material. And while this new track doesn't appear to feature any familiar samples on it, the throwback 60's Doo-Wop style is still in tact with G's always recognizable laid-back flow. In G-Eazy's own words about the new track, "Mad is about the fantasy of falling in love with a stranger at a party just by heavy eye contact; before any words are even exchanged. [...]

Alec Baldwin apologized to his fellow American Airlines passengers in a blog on Huffington Post today, but not to “the 1950′s gym teacher” or other members of the plane crew that forced him to leave a flight. Baldwin was kicked off the plane, because he refused to turn off his cell phone. “It was never my intention to inconvenience anyone with my ‘issue’ with a certain flight attendant,” Baldwin wrote. Baldwin said he’s been a loyal American Airlines customer for more than two decades and the frustration [...]

Always bringing the most creative flows to his songs, G-Eazy samples LCD Soundsystem's "Dance Yourself Clean" and absolutely crushes it. This track came off of his most recent mixtape, "The Endless Summer", that dropped back in August. He's got a couple awesome songs on the tape, so if you haven't checked it yet I highly recommend downloading it ( click here to link to his site ). G-Eazy - All I Could Do (ft. Skizzy Mars & Devon Baldwin) Had to throw up "Runaround Sue" again... This is [...]

This is a recommendation from Thom Yorke. This song caught my ear during his mix for Gilles Peterson last week. This is sparse, sinister bass and beats- simple. Introducing: Anstam . Baldwin - Anstam [bass music] [recommended] Bless- Wolfey
Airy falsettos; the inclination to stretch single words over many musical measures; dramatic and sudden shifts in pitch; these are things that many vocalists do, not just Dave Longstreth and thus by association, Nat Baldwin. Dirty Projectors may be what Nathanial Baldwin is most well known for, but one listen to his stunningly gorgeous solo [...]

There are some great moments on People Changes, especially 'Lifted' and 'A Little Lost', but it could really do without the lengthy voyages into noise

You don't get many double bassists / vocalists in the world of indie, so Nat Baldwin very much stands out in a crowd of one - and that's not just because of the "hello there" naked torso that adorns the cover of new record People Changes . Baldwin's day job is playing bass in the delightful art-poppers Dirty Projectors. But aside from that he's also studied under jazz legend Anthony Braxton, and in his downtime from his bandwork and recording with the likes of Department of Eagles and Vampire Weekend, he's released a handful of interesting and [...]
By this point in his career, Dirty Projectors bassist Nat Baldwin has carved out his sonic niche. More than just his distinct style of playing, Baldwin’s songwriting and approach to structure reveals his pop sensibility as channeled through the lens of his training under Anthony Braxton. Solo Contrabass , his debut, explored free jazz, improvisation, and modern classical with equal force and fervor, but it was with the duo of Lights Out and Enter The Winter (both on Broken Sparrow) that his writing truly began. Not content to be confined to ABACAB, the [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Mr Baldwin seems to have a thing about basketball. Last week we streamed the track ‘Lifted’ and wrote about Nat Baldwin 's new album People Changes , which is out on July 25 via Western Vinyl – the cover of which features Nat half dressed, clutching a basket ball, gazing out of the picture with ‘are-you-just-going-to-stand -there-or-are-you-going-to-pla y?’ eyes. Well this week we have been directed to another opportunity to hear a People Changes track before the [...]

You will recognise Nat Baldwin as the double bassist from Dirty Projectors , but he is also a solo musician in his own right, and upcoming album People Changes is his fourth full-length effort. There were three years between the songs on the album being written and recorded, so you can be sure that the tracks will be highly developed compositions, not to mention the fact that they were conceived in a cabin in the New England wilderness. ‘Lifted’, which appears on the album, gives [...]
Put a double bass in a cabin in the tranquil wilderness of Maine and combine it with years of experience playing with Dirty Projectors and a dash of free-jazz influence for good measure, and you get Nat Baldwin’s latest masterpiece, People Changes. Baldwin’s unique and beautiful fourth album came out last month on Western Vinyl, [...]

Secretive German duo Anstam craft dystopian grooves that sound like they were created with a set of post-apocalyptic machine tools. What sets their music apart from that of similarly abrasive contemporaries is that the identity of Anstam's releases is always more grounded in concept than content. Baldwin and Carmichael may be crushing on first listen but at heart they are fiercely intelligent tracks, essays on the blurring of lines between dubstep, jungle, and techno. Baldwin stomps along full of menace, with clockworking breakbeats surrounded by eerie chimes and uncanny [...]
It almost seems a tradition nowadays that a band member will see one of it's talents step into the spotlight alone and take a stab at the solo album. Ah, the solo album, the lone path that most music artists dream of taking. A chance to grab hold of the artistic reins and steer yourself down a path guided only by instinct, vision and measured up with some talent. While some are able to rise to the challenge and establish themselves as a bona-fide music artist, others veer into a path of self-indulgence and risk alienating their listeners. In the [...]

Sem antevisões ou apostas futuras, o nome que se segue merecerá toda a atenção ao longo deste ano. Fixem-no bem.
