weekends. brendan (left), adam (right) Brendan Sullivan - Where We're From Brendan Sullivan - Distance Between In 2007 Weekends ' Brendan Sullivan released Wooley Eyes on Lost Ghosts Records , home to a community of Baltimore-based musicians with some free album downloads available between the distro site and right here . The cassette looks to be quite simple, concealing a humble selection of tracks such as "In The End (Any Other Man)" or "Three Crooked [...]

First new jam off the forthcoming Winks record, She's Done , could really fit that acid on a boat scene in Apocalypse Now like a glove. Recorded by Chase (INEVERYROOM) and Adam (WEEKENDS) and produced by their pal Ben, all songs were played straight to tape before becoming digitized. It's really just a beaut - keep an ear out for the full release on Friends Records this fall and download the first Winks album for free over here . Also make sure to cop INEVERYROOM 's debut cassette. For more detailed information on [...]

Friends Records are our homies out of Baltimore putting out none other than their best of friends best of records, and dammit if these records aren't just the best of in general. With only four releases under their vinyl-studded belts they number Weekends , Sri Aurobindo (probably not the Sri Aurobindo you'll find on google), a Future Islands / Lonnie Walker split, and our old pal Height with Friends - not to mention the first cassette release from one of Baltimore's best kept secrets, INEVERYROOM . Oh, and if you want to get really nerdy [...]

So so many sweet beats going down in Baltimore, but that's nothing new. What is new though is the lightfootwork from Bmore's Diva Cup, self-described as "meant to inspire, give joy, and celebrate the rapture of the living world. It's psychedelic grooves pump the heart, shake the feet, and move the mind," and they totally do! Sam posted his debut X Minus One for free which you can download right here with great fuckin' recommendations from myself, Chocolate Bobka, and Run DMT in case strength in numbers is what you're lookin' for. Seriously, this is [...]

I'm only a quarter of the way into inflatable mattress ' real talk for the first time, but anything with the Happy Family brand gets a 'way tight' in my book. I'm just waiting for the day when bmore isn't the standard Baltimore beat and we can hit up a space consistently dj'd with the sounds of Run DMT, Happy Family, teenage Animal Collective, and so on and so forth...I guess when medical marijuana is legal it'll make more sense to the general public. More words on this tape later, but download it now for [...]

Two of my favorite finds of '09, Run DMT and Happy Family (both outta Baltimore), teamed up for a chill end of the year mixtape. Filled with enough cycling echo and reverb to drown out the remaining December, the dudes are updating Gregorian chant repertoire like it ain't no thang. Download the "Amanda Huggankiss mix" right here , and get prepped for a super well-deserved nap. happy family - cups happy family - going to RUN DMT - mad weed [...]
