We found this internet blog on website and see Bristol doing excellent band at this moment. you like "fuck noisy music"?, you can feature Grim Brides on you blog site." Every now and again you get hit by something so hard that everything else around you disappears into a sea of black stars and white light. This happened to me whilst in a giant owl piñata in Brighton on the weekend after my head was thwacked by a guitar. I was fine, but [...]

There's a new band on the block. Producing some sweet post-folky-rock numbers with a hell a lot of substance, style and elegance right from the other side of the pond. Influenced by the likes of Austra, Nick Drake and Cat Power, New York-based Wilsen blend contemporary folk songs with ethereal, electric arrangements to create a full intricate sound tagged "dream folk". Wilsen self-released their debut mini-album 'Sirens' in the summer of 2012. Their debut single 'Anahita' was released in February 2013. New single 'Dusk' is released on the 10th June 2013. It comes backed by a cover of [...]

"Disappear", the swelling and soulful ballad from Mikky Ekko is the new self-produced track which he has dubbed as a "ruff demo" offering. Nay! This surely sounds like his best work yet and in my mind, he won't be disappearing anytime soon... The post Mikky Ekko: Disappear (ruff demo) appeared first on Indie Music Filter .

Having been recently introduced to Salford lads The Nankeens I spoke to lead singer Adam Darby to find out a bit more about how the band got together and what they have planned following the recent release of EP Autonomy. AMBY: The Nankeens were previously two separate bands so how did you get together? AD: It was just good timing really, we knew each other from being on the same scene and had played shows together. Both bands broke up [...]

I missed the episode of New Girl in which this song "Until We Get There" by Lucius was placed in, but started seeing the song pop up on the blogs a week ago. Stunning track (actually demo), which will be on the bands' album this fall. Click here to sign up for the bands' newsletter and download the demo version of the song. If you're not feeling appropriately "Tuesday" yet, here's Bear Mountain 's track "Congo" from their new album XO . An infectious tune lathered with synthy chords, live instruments, syncopated bass lines and strong vocals. If that just scrapes the surface then go on and visit this page and listen to the other beat-upper "Two Step". The post Bear Mountain appeared first on Indie Music Filter .

Originally the solo project of Jesse Cafiero, Split Screens added drummer Rory O'Connor ( Tycho, Com Truise ) and vibraphonist Geneva Harrison ( Rachel Goodrich, DRMS ) to record their debut, self-titled EP, which came out in December of last year. The band have recently made the step-up to performing live shows and have also released a beautiful new video that you can check out below. Crafted together using old footage from a San Franciscan film archive, the video is a perfect accompaniment to a track that is both vibrant and touching. Layers of soft instrumentation [...]
Some fast, jagged, angular, wild, spastic, and some what zany post-hardcore from the guys in Let's Talk Daggers . The trio just dropped a new full-length in March titled Fantastic Contraption . I'm gonna give the full-length a listen as soon as I make heads or tails of this video!

Photos by G. Owl (from left to right: Chris Wyse, Dan Dinsmore, Jason Achilles Mezilis) California based rockers Owl came to New York last night and played the Bowery Electric on May 19, 2013. Moments before the show started, technical problems at the venue threatened the gig, but luckily the Bowery Electric was able to pull it together in time so that Owl could end our weekends on a rockin' note. If you are unfamiliar with Owl's music, you'd not leave one of their [...]

Every now and then someone will send me a song to review that they claim has “potential” but it rarely ever does. Personally I usually try and avoid the word “ potential ” as it almost always comes across patronising and in an environment where we are currently saturated with ‘new’ music it’s often difficult separating the consistently good from the otherwise average. Which is why I surprised myself when the only words I could conjure up to describe emerging Australian duo Machines for Dreams all revolved around the notion of potential. There is actually little [...]

Recently releasing their debut record Scorpio Leisure, Edinburgh's The Stagger Rats deliver high-energy, melodic, and lyrically clever music. The band's answers were quite humorous and show off their cheeky personalities. AMBY: How would you describe The Stagger Rats' sound to those unfamiliar with your music? The Stagger Rats: Our sound has recently undergone a fairly serious change. I'd call [...]

On their Facebook, London's Lovelife describe themselves as a "pop band". But after meeting the band and watching them play live, it's safe to say that Lovelife are a passionate and infectious pop band. The last time AMBY spoke with Lovelife was back in October. The band were set to release their very first EP El Regreso , and now they are soon releasing their third EP Stateless . It's kind of crazy how fast time flies! Back in October, I mentioned to Lovelife's Lee Newell how we really hope they play a gig in Toronto [...]
