Any time my camp friends and I would get together in the city we were destined to have a memorable night. It's a shame no recording exists (that I can find) of the Tim Reynolds Trio show we saw at the Wetlands in '98 or '99, because if it did I could tell you all about the time Dan and I were waiting for a cab and a guy who'd just gotten his throat slit stumbled into us begging for help. Instead, I'll tell you about my first moe. show. At Jewish overnight camp, all the counselors and [...]

Bleck. That's what this weekend is looking like. At least it's supposed to be sunny for the kick off of my early season soccer match on Sunday- it'll be sunny, but cold. Can one play soccer in long johns? I might try. Any, I'm rambling, as I just don't have much to say about music, or anything else for that matter. So, I'll stop rambling, and let you just skip right on over to the downloads: Tracklisting: Goldfrapp - [...]

2009 is a tough year to judge. I've checked out more albums this year than any year in the past. Well over 1,000. And there have been quite a few great ones as well. When this list began, it had 110 albums. I abandoned my top 33 and 1/3 for 45, and then said "screw it" and upped the number to an even 50. These are the top notch albums of the year, all worthy of praise. Despite trouble all around, 2009 wasn't all that bad. [...]

We're now half way through 2009, so I figured it was about time to collect a few favorites from the year thus far. I've put together 10 must-hear albums from the first half of 2009. To alleviate any bias, and because I'm totally obsessed with this style of categorization, I'm putting them alphabetically. A few albums are missing from this list and deserve bonus recognition. I've chosen five artists I find absolutely amazing to list as honorable mentions. Why? In some cases, I haven't had the chance to [...]
![The Banyans [Feature Band]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1763936_lg.jpg)
In their brief existence, The Banyans have already shared the stage with some of Seattle's most established indie acts including Throw Me The Statue and Say Hi. And it's easy to hear why; their sound is quite conducive to Seattle's underground sound, from the back-woods nature of The Cave Singers to the more pop-edged folk-rock of Grand Archives. The Banyans split their tunes between sad and sleepy folk-ish alt-country in tunes like "Across The Bow" and "By Now You Know", and a bouncy country-tinted folk-pop found in songs [...]
Πηραμε και τη μεταθεση μας και αυριο αρχιζουμε τα δουλικά νούμερα. Θα περασει και αυτό όμως... (ε?) Cassettes Won't Listen - Paper Float (Bisc1 Remix) Ezra Furman & The Harpoons - We Should Fight Banyan - La Sirena

Sure, I've been a bit disparaging about Husband Love Your Wives in the past on Sound On The Sound - it's just not my type of music. Yet, for undisclosed reasons, Ms. Spiess has spent a considerable amount of time in the hospital as of late, and as we all know the American health care system doesn't turn its head at milking the uninsured for all their worth, so, it seems Spiess has racked up a good deal of debt. Lucky for her, and honestly, us a great group of local musicians are coming together at The Sunset to help [...]
