This morning, Bat For Lashes shared the follow-up to "Laura,"  a moving piano ballad released as the first single off Natasha Khan's The Haunted Man LP, as a free download and stream. To these ears, "Marilyn" draws on the Cocteau Twins side of the many '80s influences Khan wears on her sleeve, complete with a big, shimmering hook in the chorus and plate reverb-drenched retro drum machine samples. Somewhat familiar to her earlier output, but another promising taste of what's shaping up to be an excellent third record no less. Give it a spin above.

Already a standout among recent Bat for Lashes  live sets , here's "Laura" in official form, in which we're introduced to  The Haunted Man  with the heart-wrenching piano ballad. Watch above, as Natasha Khan co-stars in a portrait of the tune's heroine, self-reflecting from the dressing room, dancing onstage and singing in the wings of an empty theater. Last month, Bat for Lashes hit the road for European festival dates, new songs from Natasha Khan's forthcoming LP, The Haunted Man , in tow. She's only made two records so far, but given how well Natasha Khan's sophomore album, Two Suns , built on the promise of her debut as Bat for Lashes, Fur and Gold , I can't wait to hear the next step. Pearl's Dream the latest video from the infectious sophomore of breathy songstress Bat For Lashes finds Natasha Khan in Margiela-like wig garb...trapped in a giant Solar System diorama...with a wolf...while her blonde wigged doppelganger/alter ego watches on. It's far less confusing than it sounds. Between the wild animals, planets, smoke machines and lighting bolts the clip could be accused of delving into new age cheese but Khan is so gosh darned charming we'll let it slide.
