Battles are a band that have never been short of balls when it comes to pushing the experimental envelope. Melding rock beats with electronics, live drums and more they are a site to behold in full flight. Over the course of the past couple of months, Battles have been teasing up to the release of Dross Glop , the remix album for last year's Gloss Drop , with a steady stream of 123 singles consisting of remixes from the album. With its April 17 release date approaching quickly, the wait for the full release is just about over. A banda Battles, de NYC, vai lançar no dia 21 de Abril um disco de remixes do álbum Gloss Drop . Intitulado Dross Glop , o cd conta com trabalhos de artistas como The Field e Shabazz Palaces. Duas faixas já estão disponíveis, Ice Cream remixada por Gang Gang Dance e Rolls Bayce por Hudson Mohawke.

A new remix from Battles' forthcoming remix album, featuring reworked tracks from the band's last album, Gloss Drop . The remix album's title: Dross Glop . Yep, that's the title. The above track is Hudson Mohawke taking on the track "Rolls Bayce," which I wish hit a bit harder with the bass, but it's still a nice revision. The complete collection of remixes, Dross Glop is set to drop on April 17th. Battles has been simultaneously releasing 123 records of these remixes, and the last installment of that is set for a Record Store [...]

The Battles track "Africastle" gets touched up by Kode 9 in this new remix off the band's 2nd remix 123. There are two more 123s to come in this remix series; plus, Battles is planning on putting out a CD compilation of these remixes as well. The title: Dross Glop . New York post rock and electronic act Battles released their much anticipated second album "Gloss Drop" on Warp last year. They have now lined up a 4-part series of remixes. A lot of people enjoyed Battles latest album "Gloss Drop" last year, and to make them enjoy it even longer and in a different way, Battles deceided to release a  4-part Battles 12 inch remix pack. In a few days, we can get our hands on "Dross Glop 23, with remixes by Shabazz Palaces, Kode 9 & The Alchemist. If you want this: it will be available on 12inch vinyl, Feb 20. European duo Walls have released the first single from their upcoming second album, Coracle, which is due out late September.  "Sunporch," was released today via Kompakt and boasts similar euphoric patterns of psychedelic sounds as what be heard on their debut self-titled LP. Battles, who we have done write-ups on in the past (check past post here ), had the privilege of being filmed by the outstanding LaBlogotheque crew.  They were some how able to obtain a four-hour period of time to play within the beautiful city hall building in Paris and Battles definitely put this opportunity to great use.  They delivered a brilliant performance of their mathematical and layered music all caught on film by the director Nat of the LaBlogotheque crew.  Check out the original write-up on their site here , [...]

I've followed them since the beginning of 2008 and Mallory's vocals have grown stronger and more diverse throughout the years.
