San Jose’s Cartoon Bar Fight will depart for a teeny tiny tour next week. Spanning just over a week, the eerie pop band will hit usual haunts like San Francisco, but also make more out-of-the-way stops in places like Hayward and Santa Cruz. The band will use the tour as a place to premiere tracks from their upcoming concept album, due later this year. Jared Griffin, primary songwriter for San Francisco's Sioux City Kid was one of the first artists to put Jack White's refurbished Third Man Record Booth to use, recording the track "Heartbreak Shakedown" on Record Store Day in Nashville last month. Trivial Shields is the new project for Christian Carpenter, who was the brain and hair behind the late Chrystian Rawk , a project Carpenter says "didn't quite translate out of my friend circle."
