Performing together for the first time in over 20 years.

In December, we reported that elusive, damaged genius Brian Wilson was back together with the Beach Boys, the once-estranged group he'd helped to make great. This year, they plan to tour together and release a new album. And at this Sunday's Grammys, Billboard reports that they'll all perform together for the first time in decades. Since both their nominated singles include a fair amount of whistling, it's not such a surprise to see that the Recording Academy has paired Maroon 5 with Foster The People for a performance during the 2012 Grammy Awards . In the grand tradition of throwing seemingly unrelated acts on stage with one another , the two bands will be joined by the recently reunited Beach Boys (who we assume will somehow incorporate their track "Whistle In" ). The 2012 Grammy Awards already promise on-stage collaborations between Foo Fighters and Deadmau5 , Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and David Guetta , and Coldplay and Rihanna . Now, as an issued press release confirms, you can also expect to see the recently reunited Beach Boys sharing the stage with Foster the People and Maroon 5. Other scheduled performers at this year's Grammys include Adele, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj among others.
