Adam Yauch , better known as MCA and one of the founding members of The Beastie Boys, passed away today after a long battle with cancer. He was 47 . Yauch co-founded the Beastie Boys with Mike "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horowitz in 1979. The band started off as a hardcore punk group, but soon began experimenting with hip-hop. It goes without saying that Beastie Boys revolutionized modern music with a hip hop core that blended multiple genres. Yauch will be terribly missed.
