Portland, Oregon's James Winters must be a pretty big Beastie Boys fan. The film maker put his whole family to work on this "Sabotage" tribute video featuring his kids and nephew as a way to pay homage to MCA. Winters writes, "Worked on this with the wife, kids and our nephew over the past week to pay tribute to Adam "MCA" Yauch." Watch the clip below to see the Beastie's classic "Sabotage" reworked by little kids. It's pretty dope. Beastie Boys - Sabotage / MCA tribute from James Winters [...]
The Beastie Boys " Sabotage " video will always be my one of my favorite Beastie Boys videos ever and most likely one of my favorite music videos of all time. The video seemed to have it all, cheesy 80's cops costumes equipped with porn mustaches, drugs, hookers and tons of action. Well apparently it was a favorite of videographer James Winter too as he decided to pay a fitting tribute to the late MCA by introducing a whole new generation of Beastie fans by reenacting the classic video with his kids. And [...]
In keeping with the theme of the last post , here's some more Licensed to Ill -era goodness from the Beastie Boys. A non-album track, "She's On It" was originally released on the soundtrack for the 1985 flick Krush Groove . (And here's a party icebreaker for ya: Krush Groove was written by Ralph Farquhar, father of quick-lipped L.A. rapper Busdriver , born Regan Farquhar.) I own this track on a 7-inch, the flip side to a "Fight for Your Right" single, which makes sense [...]
This was first aired in 1998 and my friend Ciaran recorded it for me on VHS and made a cover for it and everything. It's up on Youtube but it parts are missing due to copyright claims. Here's the full version via Vimeo. A great watch. RIP MCA. Here's a best of the Beasties mix. The first MCA line of every song he appeared on:
I was overwhelmed Monday by very kind and unbelievably flattering feedback on my post about MCA , which probably speaks more to the legacy and impact of the Beastie Boys than anything. I heard from so many people from various corners of my life who were all recalling their best Beasties stories or mourning MCA's death in their own ways. Maybe it's not Buddy Holly and the day the music died, but it feels like a defining moment for a certain generation of music fans. So it didn't seem right to let it end on just one [...]
Following the devastating passing of Beastie Boys member Adam " MCA " Yauch last Friday, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots paid tribute on Friday's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon . After giving a brief statement, Fallon delivered a video montage honoring MCA , which gave footage from the Beastie Boys 2009 appearance on the show. Afterwards, The Roots performed covers of "Sure Shot," "Remote Control," and "Sabotage" [...]
Dave Chappelle didn't just have the best comedy sketches on TV, he also had the best musical performances. From Kanye and Common performing "The Food" inside a kitchen, to Black Star delivering the PSA, "What Is Beef", Chappelle's Show gave Hip Hop fans a musical experience like none other. Unfortunately, Dave Chappelle canceled the show abruptly in the midst of filming season 3. While they have shared some of that footage throughout the years, something that has never seen the light of day is the Beastie Boys performance of "The New Style", which took place on a boat in the [...]

Kids Pay Tribute to Adam Yauch in Sabotage Remake
Like any good Gen-Xer I have been sharing my love for the Beastie Boys with my son. It’s become more focused and poignant with Adam Yauch’s passing and so when I see stuff like this I can’t help but smile and feel good knowing there are other cool-ass kids out there learning about the band. I love this video and you just know MCA would too. Via Kill Rock Stars
Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage' Video Reenacted by Kids as Tribute to MCA
Filed under: News , Video Vimeo The tributes to the Beastie Boys ' Adam Yauch keep on coming. One of the better ones we've seen though is this awesome reenactment of their landmark video "Sabatoge." Portlandian filmmaker James Winters conscripted his two children and his nephew to act in this faithful (for the most part) facsimile of the original video. Considering MCA only passed away 11 days ago, this undertaking is quite impressive. [...]

Watch Kids Reenact The Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” Video
As a means of paying tribute to the late Adam "MCA" Yauch , some parents got together and decided to shoot their own version of the Beastie Boys' classic "Sabotage" video. Here's the thing though: the adults stood behind the cameras and let their kids do the acting work. The end result is just as cute, hilarious, and awesome as you might imagine, so stop reading this and watch the video below.
The Sabotage is Adorable With This Tribute to MCA
James Winters created this ridiculously adorable tribute to recently deceased Beastie Boy, Adam “MCA” Yauch . Winters cajoled his wife, kids and his nephew for the video - one that would probably be a viral hit regardless, but is that much more touching given the recent passing of Yauch. [via blogtown ]

Beastie Boys on Late Show starring Joan Rivers (circa 1987)
