I don't really have too much to say today. I may have to take my mac in for a quick repair. My audio jack got fucked up and obviously that is a big problem for me. A even bigger problem is that they say it may take 3-5 fucking days just to repair this. Something tells me it should not take more than a few hours though....hmmm. Anyway, if you don't hear from me for a while remember this! Here are some songs to rock out to this weekend! : [mp3] : Yeah Yeah Yeahs [...]
Yeah Yeah Yeahs have made the video for their forthcoming new single Heads Will Roll . The video was directed by The Mighty Boosh actor Richard Ayoade, who also directed Arctic Monkeys' 2008 DVD release Live At The Apollo . Yesterday the band announced they were playing the 2009 Glastonbury festival. Via NME . [...]

I awoke to some pleasing news yesterday, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are closing the show at this year's Bluesfest ! Just days ago I reviewed my summer 2009 festival and show line-up, which I think is shaping up quite nicely. The roster currently includes first time viewings of Santogold , Amanda Blank , Lykke Li , Cold Play , Beastie Boys , Beast , Neko Case and Holy F*ck! , and a slew of welcomed repeat acts like, Thunderheist , the Roots [...]

The other day I came across a couple new remixes that piqued my interest… a remix of “Magificent” off U2’s new No Line on the Horizon album, and a remix of “Let Love Rule (2009)” off Lenny Kravitz’ breakthrough album Let Love Rule, which has a 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition coming out on May 19th. You can learn all the details about that release here. Anyway, I’ve included those two remixes as well as an interesting selection of some other songs that have gotten the remix treatment for you today [...]

After the momentous success of last year, All Points West is back for another go at the festival scene, and even though we won't be seeing Radiohead back on the stage for another round of jaw dropping performances this year, the line up is pretty stacked, having Coldplay , Tool and The Beastie Boys headlining the three day event at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. The festival will take place on July 31-August 2, and along with the three [...]

The festival which is now entering its second year has announced its lineup for this year, taking place July 31-August 2 in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ. Last year I believe they had Radiohead playing two (!) nights so they started big, and are continuing with that this year with an incredibly solid (yet Radiohead-less) lineup that sports some of our favorites. The lineup right now is as follows: Friday, July 31: Beastie Boys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, The National, Fleet Foxes, MSTRKRFT, Q-Tip, The Pharcyde, Organized Konfusion, The [...]
The initial lineup for All Points West , which will be July 31-August 2 at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J., has been announced. And it looks pretty solid. Some of the big names include Beastie Boys , Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Tool , My Bloody Valentine , Echo & The Bunnymen and Coldplay . Some of the not quite as big names include Tokyo Police Club , Heartless Bastards , Steel Train and Michael Showalter.

Let's start off with the Beastie Boys. The boys are finishing up their 8th studio album, and its apparently shaping up to be a "pretty weird" one, says lead rapper Adam Yauch. Far from their all-instrumental album The Mix-Up, this one includes "a lot of rhyming and playing and sampling - all combined." It should be pretty cool...thanks to Entertainment Weekly for the heads-up. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' new album was prematurely evaluated over at Stereogum , and they seem to like it. A lot. Judging from the first two singles, [...]

I can guarantee one thing: Sasquatch will not pull a Langerado . A handful of big names overlap with Bonnaroo, but that's not a bad thing considering how far apart they are from each other: Sasquatch is in Washington state and Bonnaroo ( lineup ) is in Tennessee. Both still have more artists to add, but already it seems like both are upgraded from last year. I don't think Bonnaroo can be called a jam band festival anymore, but it's a wee bit more chill than its intensely indie counterpart. West Coast, start rounding up [...]

The king of summer festivals is back on the beautiful 700-acre Manchester farm in June (11th-14th), and the announcement of (some of) the performers came this morning. The lineup is packed full of big names and great accompanying artists. Metallica and Kanye are gone this year (YES!), and Phish is bringing back Bonnaroo as a jam band festival, doing two shows over the four days. It could use a dosage of hip-hop though, so hopefully that comes with the next announcement (last year I got front row for Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli followed - needless to say [...]

What comes to your mind after you've had read this little text here? Blackdisco are two giant nerds from Portugal whose love for music and sound made them build a bunker and fill it with loads, and I mean loads of recent and vintage gear that allows them to fool around with sound as they pretty damn please. I kid you not, ladies and gentlemen… these boys rock the synthesizers, the vocoders, the arpeggiators and everything that has a knob or a button in it. Exactly - "nerds" seems to be a [...]
