Graeme Sinden has broken ground for bass music and dance music as a whole as a producer, DJ (both in clubs and on Kiss FM), and artist in his own right, working with some of the most preeminent artists in the world for the past few years and solidifying his spot as an influence, tastemaker and hero to many, many people. He's also just launched his own record label, Grizzly, earlier in the year, releasing material by the likes of Brodinski, Bassanovva and WAFA.

The Count & Sinden dropped their new single "Mega" a few weeks back. And it's bloody brilliant. Powered by thunderous samba drums and robotic synth hook, it's a festival of electro delights. Dear Kid Sister, I love you, but you need to get off of your ass and release your debut already. I read yesterday that you and your label are holding your album until it feels right "sonically." I do... Continue reading "An Open Letter to Kid Sister" >
The Count & Sinden "Beeper" (featuring Kid Sister) I got a chance to catch up with Sinden while he was out here for his SF tour date. For those who haven't heard of him he, has an extensive remix discography, ranging from Santogold to Amy Winehouse. After being fortunate enough to hear some of the tracks for his upcoming album on Domino Records with fellow producer, The Count, I am eagerly awaiting its release. Its scheduled for a Spring 2009 release. Listening to the tracks instantly took me back to my trip to [...]

All hail Giorgio Moroder. The man with the fakest real moustache, the man with the highest amount of good (and bad) songs ever and of course, ARAWA's unofficial mascot and prom king ('77-present). I thought I knew everything about the man (underwear size, lunchmeat preferences) until yesterday when I came upon this amazing single. In 1978, on a lone 7" under the pseudonym The Beepers, Giorgio crafted two kitschy vocoded songs bridging the gap between his past sugary pop-rockin self and his future, as a sequencer brained computer disco overlord. Proving once again the man can be truly ridiculous and [...]
Starting at an early age on turntables practicing with his brother which is one half of Chromeo now, he got good enough to win a DMC battle at 15!! then he went on to rock clubs a ll over the globe with the Hip Hop trend of the 90's and early 00' and also becoming the Dj of the infamous Kanye West. Now he's using all of that knowledge to produce Electro "The music of the new era" and he's coming strong with his own productions and collaborating with huge djs in the game like Laidback Luke, Steve Aoki,Boys Noize,Digitalism,Herve to name [...]

No one really records songs dedicated to emerging mediums anymore. However in the early 80's, the video game medium was exploding and two artists jumped at the chance to pay it a pop homage. So...shall. we. play. a. game? The 1983 movie Wargames , starring Matthew Broderick, was one of the first pop-culture films to look at the negative aspects of computers. Not only was it a ground-breaking film, but the music was pretty awesome too. Player 1: The film's electro-pop tune "Video Fever" by The Beepers , captured the main [...]
