Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy, and Richard Linklater are discussing a follow-up to Before Sunset , the delightful 2004 film that was itself a follow-up to 1995's Before Sunrise . As Hawke kindly points out, if they make the third movie next summer, it will be nine years since they worked on the last one - just as there were nine years between the first two films. Before Sunset and Before Sunrise make for a nice double feature, the story of wayward lovers, American Jessie, and Frenchwomen Celine. In Sunset, the two meet on a train and spend the night together tramping through Prague. In Sunrise, Jessie has written a book ten years later about the experience hoping to connect with his lost love. Sunrise, for me is a work of emotional genius, but it can't fully be appreciated without watching Sunset first.
