Almost the weekend, almost time to sail away. And wot better way to welcome it than with the BEIRUT 's summery new video, THE RIP TIDE .

It's been about a year since Beirut dropped their fourth album The Rip Tide and they're still dropping gorgeous videos for it. This time, for the album's title track, it's a solitary boat sailing through the sea as wonderfully-simplistic yet beautifully-striking imagery is being played out above the horizon. Tweet vaso link For reasons I'm unclear of, I still have not gotten Beirut's 2011 release The Rip Tide. I've long been a fan, but have not had the chance to dig into it at all. Don't be like me, see if the video for "Vagabond" entices you to do what I already should have and get the album.

A group of strangers, mostly military affiliated, gather in a room, for the BEIRUT 's new video, VAGABOND . Not unlike a late Saturday night out in Vauxhall's club, Hard On, I experience. The video below features ballroom dancing. My Saturday nights out usually just features balls. Out.

Beirut mastermind Zach Condon recently told HitFix that the outfit's first new album in four years will arrive this summer. Last night, the band offered a preview of what's to come when they performed two new songs during a concert in Norfolk, Virginia. Whilst I can't guarantee exactly where it'll place, I can guarantee you that Tu Fawning's excellent debut album "Hearts On Hold" will be on my top albums of 2010.
