Each year, when the weather (finally) begins to warm up, Best Coast's summery Crazy For You is consistently one of my go-to albums. That's why it's fitting that the power-poppy, paranoid "Fear Of My Own" was recently released by the band on this year's 4/20 (also quite fitting). Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno are between them into Fleetwood Mac, Metallica and cats. Not that you could entirely tell from the summer pop that coarses through their records but then what our popstars do in their own spare should be none of their business once they can crank out refined joy such as 'Gone Again'. This recalls Spectre's girl bands and Motown but retains a refreshing contemporary outlook.
