When You Find Out about Breaking Laces, I think you'll love their quirky and heartfelt pop music!

PHOTO CREDIT: Rick Olivier From L to R: Tom Drummond, Kevin Griffin and Michael Jerome Well, damn, I somehow missed this while poring through local listings. One of my most favorite bands that has managed to satisfy me for the past (gulp!) SIXTEEN years is going to be in town Friday night. Uh, yeah. Better Than Ezra is going to bring their ridiculously epic pop-alternative rock to Center Stage Friday night, May 13. You can get tickets beforehand for a mere $22 by visiting that little link. This is one of the very first shows I ever tried recording from the audience. It's interesting hearing just how rough some of those early recordings were! Check out five new covers of the Beatles, Sonic Youth, Built to Spill, and more!

December 31st is the biggest night for live music of the year. An argument might be made for Halloween, but I'm not buying it. Your non-live-music-loving-friends don't say things like, "Halloween is the most anti-climactic day of the year" while you sit there and just snicker. We've been a little Phish heavy this week so let's take a look at how 24 other bands rang in 2011. Side Note: This was my first time using embedded images from setlist.fm and I must say it looks super slick. That site has really got it going on, [...]

I don't know about you folks, but when a great TV show makes a habit of playing great music during its killer scenes that can really lock you in as a fan. One show that absolutely did that for me was Homicide: Life On The Street. The Show ran on NBC for seven seasons between 1993 and 1999. I don't think I missed very many episodes during that time. I found out about it from my friend Stacy who would rave on about it. I probably missed half of season one, but I'm sure I caught them all eventually. It's [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News There was a lot going on Saturday afternoon on the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Fest . Hometown favorites Better Than Ezra were playing to a packed crowd on the Gentilly Stage; New Orleans R&B native Ledisi was playing the title track from her Grammy -nominated album 'Turn Me Loose' on the My Louisiana Stage; Roddie Romero and the Hub City All-Stars shook the Fais Do-Do Stage with their big band boogie music; and Small Soldiers' second line paraded and [...]
As we reported earlier this month, the once powerful Washington, DC based music festival, HFStival, will return this year following a four year hiatus. As it stands now, however, that might be the only the thing current about this year's event. According to D.C. television and radio blog DCRTV.com , HFStival 2010, which is set to take place on September 18th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, will feature the likes of Third Eye Blind, Fuel, Presidents Of The USA, Marcy Playground, Billy Idol, Better Than Ezra, and the Fixx. Hey, at the very [...]

New Tales To Tell, A Tribute To Love And Rockets was just named "Editor's Pick" at Amazon.com for the month of April. This means if you have yet to pick up the quintessential tribute to the band, you can download it digitally for the low price of $5. This compilation was lovingly produced by SiriusXM Radio DJ, Christopher The Minister , a longtime fan and former A&R rep for the band. Christopher gathered fellow fans of the band that ranged from Tool / Pucifer's Maynard James Keenan , [...]
Start off the new year with a bang ... literally! And why not - there's nothing else to do in these frigid temps. Your best bet is to burrow under a down comforter with something cute and snuggly and not your childhood stuffed animal. Sure, you could hit the gym, that's one way to combat the doughy advances on your midsection, but the gym can't make out with you; this methodology is a welcomed alternative for calorie burning. (Please note: Radio Exile does not take responsibility for any buns that may manifest in any [...]

So go back with me if you will to a time when CDs were at their height of popularity and I was just a wee little lad wet behind the ears. I had just graduated from the 6th grade and was about to move on into the dark and scary world that is middle school. A year prior I had just gotten into some of the typical big 90s bands (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc.) via recorded tapes gifted to me by my older brother. So I was getting into grunge thing with my tapes and finally decided it was time [...]
