With more than 100 bands on eight stages (well, seven if you discount the Kidz stage, which often features songs about barnyard animals), Lollapalooza is expected to be exhausting and overwhelming. The point is to see as many bands as possible, because you paid for a ticket and dammit you're going to make that 3-day wristband worth it. At least, that was my Year 1 strategy. As usual, there are hard choices to make at Lollapalooza . And unlike smaller festivals, it's hard to run from end to end to catch multiple sets when they're playing at the same time. With three-day passes selling out yesterday, Lollapalooza released their "which artists on which day" rough schedule. The announcement (click photo for larger image) came with the release of single-day passes, which are available now for $95. Conflicts are inevitable (in life as well, but, forget about that), and it seems that Sunday presents the biggest challenge. The Lollapalooza headliner that really made me stop and ponder: The reunited Black Sabbath . It's an all-rock top of the bill at the big fest this year: Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Jack White  and ...Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. What a weird addition. Chicago Tribune (MCT) -- CHICAGO - The 2012 Lollapalooza lineup announced Wednesday reaffirms that the culture of DJs and electronic artists is catching up with rock as a live attraction on the lucrative summer festival circuit. Lollapalooza's 2012 lineup has been announced in pieces over the last couple weeks with messages and ads on various Chicago buses, trains and spaces.  Last night they officially announced the full lineup, which includes headlining spots from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, and Jack White.  Other acts include Justice, J. After two-week long guessing game, the lineup to the 2012 edition of Lollapalooza, now in it's 21 year, has been revealed. And it's an odd assortment of new, nostalgia and beyond nostalgia that will take over Grant Park this August 3 - 5. Headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers , The Black Keys , Jack White and Black Sabbath . It's finally arrived. The line up for Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has been revealed and it's quite good. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath will headline this year's festival. What you're looking at above is an "apparent" copy of the official Lollapalooza 2012 lineup, given to press members at the festival's branch outing at Lollapalooza Brazil from last weekend. The photo leaked a few hours before midnight, Sunday, and for all reasonable expectations it looks accurate . Considering the leaks that Lollapalooza has already confirmed with their CTA ads ( Jack White , Justice , etc.), what you see above looks extremely plausible to be the actual lineup, which will be out officially sometime on Wednesday, April 11.
