*Sorry, I'm just now finishing uploading videos from Kanrocksas* The Black Keys were on point, as usual, at Kanrocksas a few weeks ago. The Arkon, Ohio duo rocked the Stageasaurus Rex stage on the second night of the festival at the Kansas Speedway. Dan Auerbach doesn't waste much time speaking to the crowd. The blues rock band simply lets their music do the talking. I'm just going to follow their lead and let you watch some videos of the concert:
We take a look at several up-and-coming acts from this year's Outside Lands that may have been overshadowed by headliners like Arcade Fire and Phish. Their reputations for infectious and enthusiastic live performances is what earned them their time on stage, and also the reason for their surges in exposure after the festival ended less than two weeks ago. Look inside for audio clips.
Filed under: News PA The Black Keys have finished recording their new album -- and the Danger Mouse -produced record looks set to deviate from their last effort, 2010's 'Brothers.' The duo's new album is yet to be given a name, but speaking to Spin.com , singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach revealed that it will feature some of the "fastest" tracks they have ever played on.

Still riding high on their latest album, ' Brothers ', the Black Keys have already wrapped up recoding their follow-up album. Speaking to Spin magazine the duo revealed that they recently wrapped up recording the follow-up to their 2010 critically acclaimed album and are set to release it later this year. "It's the fastest we've ever played. The new album doesn't sound like Brothers . It doesn't have that open soul feel to it. It's way more driving and the tempos are really fast," revealed singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach to [...]

The Black Keys destroy an unsuspecting audience One good thing about twice driving a 1400-mile stretch of I-10, especially during summer and once with no air conditioning, is that you have lots of quality thinking time before dehydration gives way to talking coyote hallucinations . In my window of lucidity, I enjoyed a few things I'd set aside for the trip, including Neil Young 's new/old harvesting of the country-rock archives, A Treasure , and Camper Van Beethoven 's hilarious, vaguely post-apocalyptic prog-folk [...]

It is with great pleasure that I announce The Adios Lounge's return to its proper place in the cosmic American geography: Austin, Texas. Los Angeles has been good to me, can't complain about its strangeness too much, but home is where the heart is ... and I'm goin' home. Here's Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys to drop a little home-schoolin' science on y'all. Dan Auerbach - Goin' Home [ buy ] Bob Cesare - rhythm guitar Dan Auerbach - everything else I've spent [...]
You guys like The Black Keys right? I thought so. Well imagine this... What if Adele was belting out the lyrics over your favorite rockin' Dan Auerbach guitar riff? Sounds super awesome right? OK, now stop imagining and play the song below. The Coppertone is Amanda Zelina, and holy crap does she rock my face off. This is the most hard-hitting, unabashedly bluesy sound I've heard since stumbling

I wonder if the word player has ever been used in such a slow melodic song before? Listen for the mini guitar riff courtesy of Dan Auerbach after the first chorus.

There have been quite a few great Black Keys' videos, but this "Howlin' For You" cut—directed by Chris Marrs Piliero —takes the cake. Brace yourself for exploitive grindhouse-style sex and violence, served with a soundtrack of rip-roaring Grammy winning blues, courtesy of Brothers —Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach. (via IMDB )
Radiohead in three days, Eisley March 1st, Death Cab in May 31st, and many many other great albums due out this year. And yet I'm already predicting that this album will be in my top albums of 2011. The Civil Wars is comprised of Joy Williams and John Paul White, both of which were independently [...]

With all this exposure, it was only a matter of time before her solo work -- a mix of folk and country sounds -- [...]

With the Black Crowes once again on an extended hiatus, minus the handful of European dates the band scheduled this summer, Chris Robinson isn't wasting anytime in getting back on the road with a new band for an exclusive tour up and down California. The mysterious new act called Chris Robinson Brotherhood , that according to Jambase includes psych-folk singer Jonathan Wilson and fellow Crowe Adam MacDougall, will play a 33-date run that kicks off on March 28 at the Echoplex in Los Angeles. It truely makes my heart happy that the banjo is becoming a more prominent instrument in up and coming music these days. Blame it on my southern breeding if you like but if you're being honest you have to admit that folk music comes from pretty much everywhere. Cadillac Sky is a group of five [...]
