"When Dan [ Auerbach ] left for tour on his solo record, I did feel like a loser," Black Keys ' drummer Patrick Carney admits to Spinner. "But I usually feel that, so it was nothing new." Rather than invite all of his non-existent friends over to his [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive My Morning Jacket has a history of performing career-defining shows at Bonnaroo, but they weren't on this year's lineup. That didn't stop drummer Patrick Hallahan from going anyway, as a fan. It's not that My Morning Jacket decided to just skip Bonnaroo - they're not playing anywhere, any time soon. "Right now, honestly, we've just taken a big hiatus," Hallahan admitted to Spinner while enjoying a beer backstage. "We've been touring for eight years straight. We all have other things going on right now." [...]

As evidenced by several posts in the last couple months, there are very few things floating in the blogosphere that have hit my ears quite like Dan Auerbach's album Keep It Hid . In fact, "When The Night Comes", the centerpiece of the set that follows, will be featured prominently at my wedding reception later this month. Here's his set on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic from earlier this year. I love it when the people in charge are also big fans. Take a listen. Enjoy!!! Dan [...]
There are so many good things going on in this song, and in this video. So many, in fact, that I'll just leave it at this: I'm stone cold sober, and I feel like I'm two whiskeys in. Cheers.

With "Heartbroken, In Disrepair", Dan Auerbach 's got the grooviest tune I'm hearing so far this year on 89.3 The Current; it's got a great combination of the soulful bluesy reverb-heavy guitar work that we heard all over Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Grammy-winning Raising Sand and some magical classic American sounding textures that I don't think the guy has ever even touched with his main band ( The Black Keys ) yet. Based on what friends who saw him at First Avenue earlier in the year informed me, the live setting is the place to hear what he [...]
I have a lot of favorites on Dan Auerbach's solo debut Keep It Hid , but Heartbroken, In Disrepair might be number one on the list. The new video for the song was filmed in a field in Texas with Patrick Hallahan from My Morning Jacket on drums and some of our favs, the boys from Hacienda , as the rest of his backing band. The seemingly drug-addled camera work fits the song very [...]
Filed under: Video , Exclusive Filmed in a field in Texas -- a long way from Dan Auerbach 's Akron, Ohio home studio -- the Black Keys frontman still looks right at home in the open field with nothing but a windmill and open sky surrounding him and his backing band. As one half of Keys, we're used to hearing hipster-approved blues rock from Auerbach and he still delivers on his solo album 'Keep It Hid.' But the new single, 'Heartbroken, In Disrepair,' also offers a psychedelic spaciousness that director Peter [...]

Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys performed "Mean Monsoon" and "When the Light Comes" at the Smoking Section (S.S.). Not only did Dan stop by Rolling Stone, but he also brought his backing band Hacienda, and My Morning Jacket ’s drummer Patrick Hallahan . Post from: The Galley Boys Dan Auerbach - "Mean Monsoon" & "When the Night Comes"

For only two people, Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney of Akron's Black Keys make a powerful lot of noise, and they play as if their lives depended on the performance. Auerbach wrenches distorted wails out of his guitar, while Carney screws up his face like he's bench-pressing 200 lbs. and beats those drums furiously. Their roadhouse blues/rock songs paint all the shades of love and heartbreak that a man and woman can experience. Dan Auerbach The Black Keys were not [...]
