It was no mean feat when Bloc Party headlined the hugely prestigious Earl's Court last month, so what better way to properly celebrate the occasion than to film a video during the show? Actually, a better way to celebrate properly would be to get your fans to film several hundreds of videos, and to compile them all into one rather wondrous five minute clip. Well, thanks to technology, and an incredibly willing and able fanbase, the band were able to do just that, and have thus created their brand new video for 'Truth'; another [...]

Bloc Party frontman, Kele Okereke is set to bring out a new book. The book in question will be part of The Lyric Book Company 's 'Lyrics of…' series with the next edition, 'The Lyrics of Kele Okereke', coming out on 4 March. The publication will contain the words to all previously released Bloc Party tracks, as well as Kele's own solo material. Okereke said about the compilation: “It is quite an honour to see all [...]

The front-man of Bloc Party (Kele) has been on twitter today responding to burning questions from fans. Questions included the annoying ones, however some fans were clever enough to ask about the latest new song to come out of the woodworks. Sam_Glass of Soft Focus asked if they'd be releasing 'Little Red', into which Kele said that there would be more new songs being played on the current US tour! Kele then went on to say ... "It's not called [...]

Check out this FAN-tastic memento! A Bloc Party ticket for their show at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto! Kele was extremely kind and signed it for me after their Sugar Beach gig! This was a day I had been anticipating for years, and it finally happened. I finally saw Bloc Party! We headed downtown on Tuesday for their session at Sugar Beach, and I have to admit, the anxiety completely kicked in. They played two of their songs off their latest album Four , including Truth and Day Four . Each were gorgeous with their swaying melodies, and Kele's voice really shined. I was able to get some stellar photos of their performance, so check them out here ! After they played the two tracks, I [...]

Bloc Party: Four - Bloc Party has returned in full force with the release of their aptly titled fourth album, Four . Originally from London, Kele Okereke on lead vocals and guitar, Russell Lissack on guitar, Gordon Moakes on bass, and Matt Tong on drums and backing vocals are Bloc Party. Together since 1999, they got their big break when they sent their demo to Franz Ferdinand who was so impressed they invited Bloc Party to play a festival with them in 2003. After a brief hiatus, Bloc Party was hoping to get back to the [...]

What Bloc Party does with Four is what every band on a hiatus dreams of – take a break, come back when they feel like it and sound better than ever. It is a hard task, with the risk of fans not paying attention to the return or the return sounding stale and used, but Bloc Party executes it perfectly. Despite a three years of separation, complete with solo albums and side projects from three quarters of the band, the British four-piece’s new album is so crisp and fluid that it seems like they never took a break. [...]

There's always been antagonism in the music of Bloc Party between guitarist Russell Lissack and frontman Kele Okereke's own desire to create an electro record. And it's been a busy couple of years for the band, what with Okereke off writing his own solo material (such as the excellent Tenderoni and What Did I Do? ) and seemingly being kicked out. Now Bloc Party return with their fourth album, ingeniously entitled 'Four' (sadly not linked to Beyoncé) . Okereke has clearly knocked the [...]
Listening to Bloc Party's Four is like sitting through a two hour film only to realize that all of the funniest parts were shown in the thirty-second preview.
Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Music , Music Appreciation Marley Kate It's been four years since Bloc Party 's last album, Intimacy , came out. In that time, the band's lead singer Kele Okereke put out a solo album entitled Boxer , while guitarist Russell Lissack and bassist Gordon Moakes focused on their own respective side-projects. This prompted several rumors that Okereke had left the band and that the [...]

Well it has been a long time coming, and it’s probably felt like a hell of a lot longer to die hard fans, but finally we can say that BLOC PARTY 's new album, Four , drops tomorrow. There has been an enormous amount of hype surrounding the release of this, their fourth full length, ever since the band announced they were coming out of hiatus and then released 'Octopus' + a RAC Remix . But as [...]
HD Video by G. On August 8, 2012, Bloc Party played their second of 3 sold out shows at New York's Terminal 5. Changing the set list from the night before, the show which was streamed live on You Tube included classics like "Mercury" (coincidentally on the last night of Mercury being in retrograde), "Positive [...]
Bloc Party return to San Francisco on Sunday's schedule with new ammunition in hand, a forthcoming release aptly titled Four.
Remember all that stuff last year when Bloc Party and Kele Okereke were supposedly falling apart? It was all a ker-azzzzzy stunt : Bloc Party's frontman has something to confess. In 2011, a little over a year after Kele Okereke released his solo record, The Boxer, the singer-guitarist impishly suggested he was worried about being given the axe by his bandmates Russell Lissack (guitar), Gordon Moakes (bass) and Matt Tong (drums), after he randomly ran into them outside of a New York City rehearsal space. "I don't really know what's going on," Okereke said [...]

British indie band Bloc Party will release their next album, Four , on August 20. Frontman Kele Okereke has hinted that this album will be the band's last, but we've heard that story before from this band, right? For now, enjoy "Day Four" from the foursome's upcoming album. While this song is more of a straightforward rocker with guitarwork reminiscent of The Police's Andy Summers, you just know there's some nifty remixes in the pipeline.

Bloc Party have unleashed “Day Four”, the 2nd track from their upcoming album Four . Four is expected to hit stores on August 21st. justbrad : kele okereke from bloc party. brooklyn, ny
