I love my job. At Hootsuite I meet creative and interesting people every day. Also my colleagues, otherwise known as Owls, are super talented. We all love social media, Owly and life. One such talented colleague is Ian Bevis who heads up indie/dance band Bear Mountain . The Vancouver based foursome blend indie-pop aesthetics with dance rhythms, pretty much mixing the perfect summer cocktail. They've recently stopped by at SXSW and in May are going on tour with everyone's favourite East London band Bloc Party. [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Music , Music Appreciation Marley Kate It's been four years since Bloc Party 's last album, Intimacy , came out. In that time, the band's lead singer Kele Okereke put out a solo album entitled Boxer , while guitarist Russell Lissack and bassist Gordon Moakes focused on their own respective side-projects. This prompted several rumors that Okereke had left the band and that the [...]

Well it has been a long time coming, and it’s probably felt like a hell of a lot longer to die hard fans, but finally we can say that BLOC PARTY 's new album, Four , drops tomorrow. There has been an enormous amount of hype surrounding the release of this, their fourth full length, ever since the band announced they were coming out of hiatus and then released 'Octopus' + a RAC Remix . But as [...]

Were back with another track from up and coming indie group Bloc Party . They are a four man band from London comprised of Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong. Their newest song is called Day Four , but were giving it to you day one. It starts off with their unique vocals paired with a bouncy guitar bass line and a series of airy subtle violins. Then suddenly it breaks off into an instrumental dream world. This is a song like none other. I'm growing to love theses guys. They are very talented. You [...]
Following the frenetic stutter of “Octopus,” here’s a gentler number off Bloc Party 's forthcoming Four LP, out August 21 on Frenchkiss / Arts & Crafts . Connect to Bloc Party: Facebook // Twitter

There is this dreamlike feel to the new track that makes this one prime for listening to over and over to help put your mind at ease. Check it out for yourself and [...]

Hey boys and girls, here's a funky new indie remix of Bloc Party's Octopus by none other than the Remix Artists Collective or RAC . We have posted quite a few tracks by RAC , original mixes and remixes, and we have been quite impressed. Bloc Party's vocalist sounds a bit like The Killers , but that's definitely not a bad thing. This fast paced electronic jam will get your head bobbing and we always like that. Give it a listen. Don't forget the tissues, because your ears could get [...]

They're back. After the hiatus, the side-projects and the tantalising trailer they posted last month, Bloc Party [ Twitter / Facebook ] officially made their return last night. The first single from their fourth album, announced as the rather literally-minded Four last month, will be familiar to those who have been keeping up , but the studio version of Octopus (out August 13th) appeared online after its Radio 1 premiere (with added video, of course; the clip is below), and it sounds like a return to the band's guitar-centric roots. Indeed, the stuttering riff that the song [...]
And they're back......My lord. Bloc Party have released their first single in three years named "Octopus" and I have to say that it's definitely been worth the wait. It's a colourful track with the habitual bloc party drumming, guitaring and kele vocals! After having their time apart working on their respective solo projects, the new album Four is set for release on the 20th of August this year. I imagine that we are in for a heavy set list of new tracks come the end of this month at Splendour [...]

U.K. dance-punk outfit Bloc Party are returning with a new album "Four," out Aug. 21 via Frenchkiss Records. The album was recorded with producer (and former L.A. denizen) Alex Newport, now headquartered in New York City. The video for the palpitation-inducing single "Octopus" — quite possibly the coolest thing we've heard from Kele Okereke and gang since their 2005 debut "Silent Alarm" — was filmed during the BBC One premiere of the song. Convulse accordingly. ||| Live: Bloc Party plays HARD Summer 2012 on Aug. 3 at L.A. State Historic Park.
