Can you believe this? Block Party's new video is finally here! "Octopus" is the first song to be released from their forthcoming album entitled, available on July 11. The clip was directed by Nova Dando who previously worked on Kele's "What Did I Do?" The 13-track new LP entitled "Four" is expected a little later, on August 19 actually.

Bloc Party have been missing in action for some time now - Four years actually, which makes the new album title very fitting. 'Four' will be released August 21st, and will be the bands fourth studio album. Hear the first track from the album 'Octopus' below.

On August 21, Bloc Party will break their four-year hiatus with the release of a new record,  Four . The band's just debuted the first single "Octopus," by way of a jumpy new video directed by  Nova Dando , which is wrought with blink-and-you-miss-it flash frames and a seductively choreographed rhythmic gymnastic number. The song is available digitally tomorrow, and as a 7-inch on August 13, backed by the B-side "Straight Thru Cru." No stream for this one as of right now, but posting this really couldn't wait until tomorrow. [...]

With the Bloc Party comeback in full swing, it was only a matter of time until we got some real material. The first single from Four  is here, with a video to match. On first listen, it seems like the band is up to its old tricks - the sharp guitars of their debut are pushed to an extreme by the staccato riffing here and the overall sound couldn't be mistaken for another band in the world right now. U.K. dance-punk outfit Bloc Party are returning with a new album "Four," out Aug. 21 via Frenchkiss Records. The album was recorded with producer (and former L.A. denizen) Alex Newport, now headquartered in New York City. The video for the palpitation-inducing single "Octopus" — quite possibly the coolest thing we've heard from Kele Okereke and gang since their 2005 debut "Silent Alarm" — was filmed during the BBC One premiere of the song. Bloc Party's anticipated fourth album, appropriately titled Four , is finally on its way. The band has just embarked on a new tour, and revealed the latest installments of the upcoming album. They played a lot of new cuts last night at their stop in Glasgow, and the footage for "3 x 33 and "Team A" turned out well enough to get a sense of what direction the band is taking.
