Moths is 18-year-old Jack Colleran. He's won plenty of fans in the past few months for his dreamy electronica creations. Here he's had a go at remixing Bon Iver's Blood Bank song 'Babys'. The original is already pretty great so it would be difficult to make it sound poor. There's [Read more]

Now for the third and finally aspect of a great night cruise mix. This is the part i love the most. These are the songs i basically have planned out a year in advance. The songs for the quite ride home. When you've decided it's time to head back in and call it a night. Any conversations at this point will have meaning and depth...real. Never underestimate the importance of songs that you internalize immediately (see big red marbles' "make that call" from my This playlist is better than most relationships i\'ve been in post i put up back [...]

On this new track , Bon Iver has altered the instrumentation his somber tunes soak in, but not much else. Years after For Emma has dropped, the mood as stayed roughly the same-which is a pretty great thing, to me. Sincerity, earnestness, honesty, and passion all come through on this one. My only issue is that even though Bon Iver's ambition has grown, the recording quality has not. There are a few spots here where the lo-fi sound quality holds things back a bit, but it's not like the song is ruined entirely. [...]
As I watched Charlie Sheen drink tiger's blood on a rooftop while wielding a machete I inexplicably thought of this sweet song.
Seekae - Gnor So the other day I posted a new mix, which you should download if you haven't yet. Batting second was this brand new track "Gnor"... (Visit my blog for more!)

Seekae is an electronic group formed by 3 Australian high school friends. They give themselves the labels of "ambient electronica" and "glitchy hip-hop." This is the first single off of their 2011 album…head-boppable and surprisingly smooth. Download: Seekae- Blood Bank (right-click) .

Even though it's all tagged up to shit and back, I'm really liking this new jam. I like auto-tune when it's well done and this I think uses it well, what with Bon Iver's use of it on the "Blood Bank" EP and Kanye's use on 808s (which I loved), but this is our first taste of the oft-reported "collaboration" between the two. Hopefully an untagged version shows up soon, because the fool who tagged this clearly doesn't know his dubya dots. Kanye West feat. Bon Iver - "Lost In The World"

Seekae - Blood Bank It's always a safe bet that Peter over at Ears of the Beholder will post some class A jams. This one by Seekae is no exception. Off their upcoming album to be released early 2011, "Blood Bank" includes an insanely infectious beat that crawls inside your psyche as if to make a home. Check out their blog to keep up to date with their whereabouts, creations, and much more. [...]
Seekae - Blood Bank I nearly forgot about Aussie group, Seekae, and then fortunately last night I arrived at a brilliant new song of theirs while... (Visit my blog for more!)
This year at Hidden Track, we concocted a little experiment for our year-end Best Albums of 2009 list. Instead of picking the old fashioned way - subjectively - we opted for something a little different: a collaborative, collective list that incorporates the opinions of everybody here at HT. To begin, we devised an all-encompassing list of around 100 nominees and populated it in a Google spreadsheet - essentially anything that anybody who writes for Hidden Track liked at all, made the list. Then we invited our crew of writers to independently vote on the [...]

"...and we were stuck out in your car" Bon Iver So I was out yesterday doing Chrimbo shopping, a typically miserable exercise that requires as much pushing, queuing and use of elbows as possible to negotiate the throng of London's hungry present searchers. Then around Leicester Square at about 4pm with the skies already getting dark, I stepped outside and on my ipod Bon Iver floated into my ears with "Blood Bank" just as the snow started to fall. [...]
Everyone seems to talk to about Thanksgiving as if it is their favorite holiday. It makes sense: when it all boils down, no one loves gluttony more than an American. We can justify spending money on food (over presents), knowing that we will partake in shoveling these tasty purchases through our personal pie holes. More mashed potatoes, please! I'm cool with it. Especially when I know that the feed fest I'm attending is forty-five people deep. Forty-five people means a lot of conversations ("Have you put on weight?" "When are [...]
I recently returned from a three week holiday in Europe (I've always wanted to say that - three years ago I had never been on a plane), and I found Volcano Choir's [ MySpace ] debut album stuffed between hundreds of Thrillist newsletters , Facebook notifications and "Fwd: fwd: fwd - this is sooo cute!" messages from my mother. It's been a week or so and I've been dragging my feet hard on this review because, well, I'll come right out and say it - I think that our fearless leader here at Radio Exile has intentionally assigned this [...]

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars Speaking of collaborations , Wisconsin's Volcano Choir brings together Justin Vernon ( Bon Iver ) and Collection of Colonies of Bees (which features former members of the mighty Pele ). The nine tracks that make up their JagJaguwar debut, Unmap have more in common with ambient music than either of Volcano Choir other parts. Using tape loops and minimal vocals, and restrained traditional instruments Unmap plays more like a score to a film than a traditional indie [...]

Here's a remix I did of Bon Iver's (who's pictured above, defaced by yours truly) gorgeous auto-tuned track "Woods" off his Blood Bank EP. I'm trying to think of a good name to put this (and anything else of this ilk) out under. So if anyone has any great suggestions let me know. Hope people likey. Woods (Remix)

With 2008 starting to look smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror and 2009 now in full swing, we're sure that you've probably grown tired of some of the music you injected into your iPod last year. Since you may not get the itch each Tuesday to hit your local record shop for new tunes, I thought I'd use this week's mix tape to feature some new music that has already hit stores this year. So sit back, relax and take a listen... We kick things off with the Derek Trucks [...]

If Bon Iver's remarkable 2008 debut, For Emma, Forever Ago, had a defining fault, it was likely its brevity. His new EP, Blood Bank , is guilty of the same charge, coming in at only four songs. Unfortunately, its faults--though few--are not limited to playback time. For the record, Blood Bank is a great listen, and better on the whole than a lot of the EPs pumped out every year by indie acts looking to fill time. Yet the strength of its first half juxtaposed against the mediocre second half leaves a listener [...]
