Blur received a Brit award last night for "outstanding contribution to music." The band played an 11-minute set consisting of career-spanning highlights ("Girls & Boys,” “Song 2,” “Parklife,” “Tender,” and my all-time favorite Blur song, “This Is A Low”). Blur's big festival-circuit reunion tour came three years ago, and the group has mostly been inactive since then, though co-leaders Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon did get together to debut new song " Under The Westway " a few nights ago. But last night, all four members got back together to accept an Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the Brits, the UK's equivalent of the Grammys. So last night The Brit Awards took place in London with the music industry sipping on buckets full of wine and a fair few bits of controversy to boot. We'll get to that in a little while though. The 2012 Brit Awards took place this evening in London and, like most award shows these days, the performances clearly overshadow the actual getting of awards. This was no different as Blur took the stage for the first time in three years and performed a 12-minute set that included "Song 2," "Girls and Boys," "Parklife," "Tender" and "This Is A Low." I used to walk or cycle, depending on the day or the weather or my mood, under the Westway everyday on my way to and from work when I lived in West London. So if you're unfamiliar with London and you're wondering what the Westway is, it's a 2.5-mile (4.0 km) long elevated dual carriageway section of the A40 route in west London running from Paddington to North Kensington. At a Brit Awards War Child benefit show last night in London, Blur co-leaders Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon got together to debut a brand-new Blur song called "Under The Westway," with Coxon on acoustic guitar and Albarn on vocals and piano. It's a drawn-out Bowie-style ballad that sounds, at least on first listen, like something special, even if Albarn does rhyme "Hallelujah" with "sing it to ya." Han sido muchas las noticias que hemos dado últimamente sobre la que ha sido una de las bandas indie más famosas de la historia: Blur. Damon Albarn y los suyos llevan tiempo hablando de que el grupo sigue vivo , y aunque incluso grabaron una nueva canción , nada habíamos podido escuchar hasta ahora. Se hanno deciso di far impazzire i fan all'inseguimento indizi e notizie date col contagocce, i Blur stanno riuscendo in pieno nel loro intento. All'inizio di novembre, dopo avervi parlato del progetto solista di Damon Albarn a nome Rocketjuice and The Moon , vi avevamo segnalato la dichiarazione dello stesso Albarn secondo cui la band aveva scritto un nuovo brano rifiutandosi poi di pubblicarlo . Sappiamo comunque anche grazie a Twitter, che i Blur si vedono regolarmente in occasioni conviviali e suonano insieme, senza la fretta tipica di chi sa di dover [...]

Damon Albarn y De La Soul aparecieron de improviso durante una presentación en el 100 Club de Londres, el pasado primero de diciembre de Gorillaz Sound System, durante un show a propósito del disco de éxitos del grupo. Un fan tuvo la gran idea de registrar todo en video con su teléfono y lo subió a YouTube.
