No one act was faced with a more daunting challenge entering this year's Glastonbury then that of Gorillaz. Sure, the band's figurehead, Damon Albarn, has experience headlining the event, as this year marked the first time the same person topped the bill in back to back years - last year, he appeared with Blur. Plus, with the release of the acclaimed Plastic Beach and a headlining spot at Coachella '10 already under the belt, no band, minus maybe Led Zeppelin, was better suited to fill U2's void that Albarn's outfit. With a surprise performance from Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood already under its belt, Glastonbury turned its collective sights to the Pyramid stage for Gorillaz star-studded set, which was to feature all of the guests from Plastic Beach . Unfortunately, Mos Def canceled all appearances at the festival because of a death in the family, but there still seemed to be enough star power to satiate any remaining U2-hungry appetites.
