When we asked our contributors to tell us their albums of the year, we also offered them the opportunity to retrospectively review any of their Top 10 list that we hadn't reviewed already. Jon Kerr took us up on that offer. Foo Fighters Wasting Light RCA Records 11 April 2011 [...]

I capitoli [...]

Rolling Stone reports that Bob Mould will be hitting the road in early 2012. The nontraditional tour will feature Mould in a variety different ways as he performs his solo music, reads from his new autobiography , performs as a solo DJ, and appears in his DJ duo Blowoff (with Rich Morel). Mould is planning on to release an upcoming album new year, which will be the follow-up to 2009's Life and Times .

Bob Mould is a pretty diverse artist. Perhaps best known for his work with Hüsker Dü , Mould also performs solo and with his band Blowoff , DJs, and writes. It's a pretty busy and diverse schedule, so why would you expect a tour to be any different? Each date on his upcoming 2012 tour seems to offer a different experience. The full listing of shows are below. If you can't wrap your head around it all, don't worry, new studio material from Mould should be arriving shortly as well since he is planning to visit the [...]

Two days ago in LA an evening at the Walt Disney Concert Hall a host of talent paid tribute to former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman Bob Mould . Chances are you didn't manage to get down to the gig but through the magic of the internet and the world we live in it hasn't taken long for performances and tracks to pop up online. Eyes closed, head slightly bowed, hands clasped, Bob Mould stood silently for better than a minute at the conclusion of Monday night's tribute concert at Disney Hall, letting the crowd's warm ovation wash over him. The 51-year-old singer, guitarist and author had to be thinking something along the lines of: What a long, strange trip it's been. Punk hero in the 1980s. Radio guitar god in the 1990s. Closeted gay man for most of both. Respected solo artist. Dabbler in electronica. Scriptwriter for professional wrestling (fer chrissakes) after that. And now, enjoying a career [...]

Video: Ryan Adams Covers Bob Mould, "Heartbreak a Stranger" Last night, Spoon's Britt Daniel, members of the Hold Steady, Dave Grohl, and others performed a tribute concert for Bob Mould at LA's Walt Disney Hall. While most artists paid their debt to Mould by mining his Hüsker Dü and Sugar catalog for cover material, Ryan Adams turned in delicate, nuanced takes on a pair of lesser-known solo tunes: 1989 Workbook cut "Heartbreak a Stranger" and the title track to 1990's Black Sheets of Rain . It must've been amazing to [...]

Bob Mould and Dave Grohl jammed out three Mould-penned songs last night at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, in a show that also featured No Age, Britt Daniel, Ryan Adams, The Hold Steady, and many more. Check out the besties running through "Hardly Getting Over It," "Could You Be The One," and "Ice Cold Ice," in pretty good quality below. And yes, that appears to be Jon Wurster on drums. We have also included Ryan Adams' cover of "Heartbreak A Stranger"
DRA and a number of rock heroes (Britt Daniel, Craig and Tad from the Hold Steady, No Age, Jon Wurster, Dave Grohl, etc.) paid tribute to Bob Mould (Sugar, Husker Du) last night at Disney Hall, and it was as great as you would hope. I'll spare you a full review since I'm frankly oblivious to most of the Mould catalog (the fiancee brought me along), but here's Ryan sounding as spectacular as ever on "Heartbreak a Stranger." That voice! (Via Stereogum )
