Kalispell is the musical project from Eau Claire, Wisconsin's Shane Leonard. According to Astronautalis, a Minneapolis-based rapper, he's teamed up with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver fame, as well as S. Carey and Ryan Olsen of Gayngs. I've always been a big fan of what I've heard from Astronautalis, and this could shape into a very cool project. I hadn't given much of my attention to the works of S. Carey , probably most notably known as the drummer of the Bon Iver gang of rabble rousers, but it turns out he's got a good thing going all on his own. He's releasing the Hoyas EP on May 8 and we've gotten to hear the opening track "Two Angles", a slower number that becomes more and more atmospheric and consequently beautiful as it goes on.
