Sorprendente.

It's easy to feel over-fatigued from award shows right now. They all sort of bump into one another at the same time. Though, given that the Oscars dropped the ball, skipping a handful of solid releases and performances, and that the Grammys still feel like, "one giant industry jerk-off where the ones who pushed the most quantity are rewarded for quality," as Alex Young put it so eloquently last year, who in their right mind cares? Well, America does. If Twitter is any indication, millions of people still tune in and actually gripe about the wins and losses; [...]
https://twitter.com/#!/blobtow er/status/167307020444246016 We fight against the Corrupt Indie Machine 4 u. This week, a battle was launched against Carles by Justin Vernon . He stood against Independent Indie Media. He stood against The Indie Truth. He stood against indie free speech and the Progressive Alt Blogosphere. Many speculated that he was a part of the Corrupt Indie Machine . Perhaps he has seen the light, taking to #Twitter to issue a formal apology 2 Carles . He said, "sorry CRLS." [...]

Los Angeles' Staples Center is where the 54th Grammy Awards will go down this Sunday. The CBS telecast kicks off at 8 p.m. EST, and the thought on everyone's mind is likely this: just how many statues is Britain's not-so-secret weapon Adele going to jet back to London with? Plus, will Grammy give the gift of a posthumous award to the late Amy Winehouse, who's up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (with Tony Bennett)? Will this be the year Skrillex becomes a household name ? Also, will Chris Brown and Rihanna bump into each [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive , The Hit List Getty|Redferns|Getty The day after the 2012 Grammy nominees were announced, the New York Times released an excerpt from an interview with Bon Iver 's Justin Vernon conducted earlier in the year, before he was nominated for four Grammys, including best new artist, best song and record of the year. After claiming his self-titled album "isn't the kind of [...]

Even in an age in which Spotify is (albeit justifiably) chastised for paying out pittances and peanuts to starry-eyed, if holey-jeaned artists it seems all but entirely illogical that a record of such startling beauty as Anywhere But Where I Am may be proffered by its conjurers free of charge. Said conjurers are Flights , or Eric Hillman and Brian Holl. Although the duo are now shacked up in Nashville, they hail initially from Wisconsin which, to the ignorant Brit at least sends surging thoughts recurring to Justin Vernon. Here [...]

For as long as there have been music awards, there have been musicians with opinions about those music awards, and the Grammys are no exception. Depending on your point of view, Arcade Fire trumping commercial heavyweights Lady Gaga, Eminem and Katy Perry for Album of the Year at last year's ceremony was either the event's salvation or the moment it jumped the shark. That polarizing victory reignited a decades-old debate about the relevance and future direction of the awards show. Grammy nominees — and Grammy wannabes — have long argued over whether [...]

When Bon Iver 's Justin Vernon was in NYC, The Roots invited him to stop by Fallon's spot for a little jamming. Being the gentleman that he is, he accepted, and what went down next was what you're about to witness. Together, The Roots and Mr. Vernon went in on an 8-minute version of "Perth" for this web exclusive. ( Late Night With Jimmy Fallon )
Justin Vernon stopped by the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon set to perform ?uestlove's "fav Bon Iver jawn" for the show's studio audience. As expected, The Roots deliver a very, very, smooth rendition of the opening song from Bon Iver, Bon Iver, working in some mesmerizing jams in the almost 4 minutes added on to the original track. I think they should take it to the studio and record an official version of this, anyone else? via

Justin Vernon and The Roots play a soulful 8 minute version of "Perth" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Luckily they released the video on the web so those who didn't get to catch it may watch it. An interesting combo, but Bon Iver is no stranger to collaborations having worked with the likes Kanye West before.

Coisa linda:
?uestlove was throwing Twitter shots at Justin Vernon just a few months ago, but all that is long-buried. Last week, when he was in town for Saturday Night Live , the Bon Iver frontman stopped by the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon studios. As a special treat for the studio audience, he and the Roots played an astral, heavily Auto-Tuned eight-minute take on "Perth" that sounded perfectly lovely. And now, in their infinite wisdom, the people at Fallon have put that video online. Watch it below; it's great. Read [...]

Despite the fact that Bon Iver 's appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon happened a few weeks back, that night is still throwing up some gems, as a video of Bon Iver teaming up with The Roots for an extended version of 'Perth' has surfaced. It's every bit as incredible as you would expect it to be. Now go watch Justin Vernon star in a workout video.
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Television NBC Well, this is surprising. Bon Iver 's Justin Vernon , the man who could not give a flying expletive about the Grammys , stopped by the ' Late Night With Jimmy Fallon ' studio to jam with the Roots on 'Perth,' the opening track from his most recent album. The all-star collaboration transformed the quiet torch song into a [...]

We've shared our 2012 Grammy picks for Best New Artist , Song Of The Year and who we think will take all the Pop and Dance categories — now let's take a look at who's up for Record Of The Year. The nominees in this category are basically a mirror image of Song Of The Year, with Kanye West's "All Of The Lights" swapped with Katy Perry's mega-hit "Firework." Can Perry make the Recording Academy go ahh-ahh-ahh and triumph, or is the unstoppable force of Adele too big to beat? Head below for [...]
