![[Introducing] – My Grey Horse](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3570355_lg.jpg)
Tweet Perhaps it's the seasons, but there a number of bands that have caught my eye with their light and fun beats, acoustic guitar strokes, handclaps and airy vocals. It's a perfect combination for the summer. Grab a Tecate, a lime, and sit-back in the sun. Enter My Grey Horse and their new hit single "Waste of Air." This quintet is made up of three brothers - John, Peter and Oobah Butler - and two friends - Tom Mott and Joe Nicklin. All five rock an [...]

The Steam Co. is lucky to have some pretty awesome friends (just like you, loyal reader and accidental, happy passer-by!) - and our lady Di is one of those. This acclaimed brow guru (really! check her out in NY Mag's best of NYC here ) takes her fabulous self to the Upper East side each morning, and asked us for some help get her ready for Brooklyn on her subway ride home. Here's to you Di - it's quittin' time: Welcome back to the BK! "Beastie Boys - No Sleep Til' Brooklyn" [...]

Why yes, in case you were wondering, we *have* reviewed this band before! " Verb Noun " from The Seedy Seeds was our Song of the Day on February 3, and since then, I've listened to the Cincinnati-based group's new album approximately 30 times (maybe more, I just wasn't counting). It really is [...]

Let's pretend that Alex Ebert (of Edward Sharpe fame) decided to make an album combining elements of folk with childlike whimsy, using hand clapping, clarinet blowing, and whistling to create some awesome toe-tappin' jams. Oh, wait. We don't have to pretend. That album is real, and it's coming [...]

The Best Party Ever from UK natives The Boy Least Likely To (Pete Hobbs and Jof Owen) is by no means a new album.

Just shy of a full two hours, this podcast is a new record length for me. I hope it helps you travel, wrap or merry. I'll, of course, be rolling out new video best-of posts, and the next show will be my favorite music of 2010. Blessings to you and yours, whatever and however you celebrate! You'd think there's only so much twee sane people could take, but no-one bothered reporting this to The Boy Least Likely To . The choice of openers perhaps suggested a night of challenging noise-rock wasn't on the cards- The Candle Thieves sounded like Fyfe Dangerfield fronting The Feeling- but Jof Owen's band take sugar coated indie pop to new, diabetes-inducing levels. Which, for a Christmas gig, is not necessarily a bad thing. Naturally, the band took the opportunity to showcase their new Christmas album (pleasant enough), and managed to fit in a couple of rather faithful Wham [...]

Tired of the same old boring Christmas songs year after year? The same songs in the same style every December? Fear no more..... This is a Christmas mix with a little bit of a twist. Nothing too "out there" or but different enough to keep you from going insane with the sounds of X-Factor garbage or other annually released festive "songs" ringing in your ears. The mix starts off with an epic track from Mew and goes into some Christmassy pop and funk then we head into [...]

So I decided to whip up a Christmas mix of some of my favorite holiday songs, oldish and new, to help bring cheer into your lives as you finish up your gift wrapping process and big farewell to 2010. Not all of these songs are explicitly about Christmas, but they're all numbers that always certainly make me think of this time of year. There were a handful of great covers/original compositions that came about the past few months, those which were included in this mix were the ones that stayed with/impressed me the most and are ones that will probably [...]

What if George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley of Wham! reunited? In a pub. On Christmas Eve... [via John Sakamoto ]

Tweet We've heard these songs a thousand times before, but that's just part of their charm. Almost any band can contribute something new to these classics, and will perhaps create your new favorite version along the way. The Shants , Westwood & Willow , Ash Reiter , BLAMMOS , and A B & the Sea (featuring the SHE's [...]
![[PLAYLIST FRIDAY] INDIE CHRISTMAS SONGS](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3052786_lg.jpg)
by teepoo Merry Christmas from Ride the Tempo! Here's a giant collection of indie Christmas songs from artists that you may or may not know. It's pretty a big list, hopefully the giantest. Some of these old, some of these new. Some are covers, and some original. Enjoy. Happy Holidays!! Sufjan Stevens- We Three Kings of Orient Are AM Taxi- The Worst Noel Ohbijou- Last Christmas The Aquabats- [...]

You can scoff all you want, I think Last Christmas by Wham! is a great song. I just don't need to hear it 150 times per day, as some radioprogrammers seem to think. Brit-duo The Boy Least Likely To (who recorded a great cover of George Michael's Faith earlier) made a Christmas album that includes a song about George and Andrew. The Boy Least Likely To - George and Andrew

We realize that there's more new holiday music besides the compilation we released this year. Once again, this year we scoured the indie music world to find some cool, and hard to find tunes from some of our favorite artists. There are a lot of lists with all the usual songs you see every year, so we did our best to try and find some gems for you. Feel free to spread the love. And Merry Christmas! We also have the pleasure once again to have a nice cover for this mix for those of you who are planning on making physical versions for your Christmas festivities. The design was done by two-time Muffin Christmas [...]
