the internet really is the only place to discover new music. there is no more "music television" (like the old Mtv) and broadcast radio just plain sucks. they play the same old crap in every cookie-cutter format. you won't find many television channels dedicated to music unless you are paying for a satellite subscription service. but music videos are alive and well on the web. i promised to post some more good stuff and here it is. brand new music videos! i hope that readers of this blog take [...]

Over the past 12 months, Adventure Club has wowed us again and again with there smooth dubstep remixes of indie rock songs. Recently, the duo released their second original, "Do I See Color," a track that displays pretty much everything we've come to know and love about Adventure Club: nice vocal chops, sexy basses and a sound universal enough to be liked by most, yet unique enough to soundly occupy its own niche within the genre of dubstep (possibly sharing some space with Flufftronix and Dirty South Joe's 'Love Step' series). Anyway, here's their new original, along with [...]

The PA indie punk group do an acoustic rendition of the old school Brand New track "Moshi Moshi".
Check out this insanely well done cover from Tigers Jaw of the mythical Brand New track "Moshi Moshi" . So good, I even ripped the audio to MP3 for you. Thanks, Nervous Energies! MP3 // TIGERS JAW "MOSHI MOSHI" (BRAND NEW COVER)
Here's some HQ footage of Brand New playing "Untitled 53 (setlisted as "Nobody Moves") from last nights New Years Eve show...Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the first time they've ever played it live. Legendary.

It's been a long year. Scratch that, it's been a veeerrrry long year. From social revolutions to the end of our occupation of Iraq, from the death of celebrities and dictators to a man who sneezes bullets and the mystery of planking, the world experienced a slew of emotions and all sorts of cultural and political upheaval in 2011. And that's not even counting the plethora of music news that had the blogosphere abuzz this year . So, as the question begs, what comes next? Well, 2012. If you were to believe certain [...]

What is dubstep without Skrillex? Well, it might be smart to begin with an actual definition: it's a genre of electronic dance music notable for its bass drops and a common tempo of 140 bpm. To be more vague, it's basically electronic music with a "womp womp wobble." Assembled below are 10 of the best dubstep remixes posted on Indie Shuffle in 2011. Basically, this list is mostly clear of brostep. Instead, it's mostly composed by a number of remixes and reworks (which were excluded from our Best Remixes of 2011 intentionally). If [...]

Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon Release date: December 13, 2011 For a cover so "Nice Effort, Guys"-y, this is actually pretty interesting.
Tweet vaso link At some point during the past twelve months, Das Racist wore out a bit of their welcome for me. I love their lyricism, and their command of cultural references, but I tire of how they always come off as joking about the whole thing. I don't know why this bothers me, but it seems to. Maybe it's all just part of a larger commentary, and I'm not privy to the entire picture. Regardless, they released their video for "Brand New Dance" [...]
This weekend Brand New took to two stages Atlantic City and Long Island. Since this is a blog about Brand New , I've done my best to compile videos of the set. I think I'm missing 2 or 3 songs from it...Hopefully this marks the beginning of more activity from the band. Tautou Sic Transit Gloria... On December 6th Triple Crown are releasing the 10 year anniversary reissue of Brand New's classic debut Your Favorite Weapon . The new edition comes with new artwork and linear notes along with some unreleased demos from 2000. Here's the demo of "Jude Law And A Semester Abroad" , it's a gritty, slow take on the track which only features the song's chorus...Pretty cool stuff. You can preorder your copy here MP3 // JUDE LAW AND A SEMESTER ABROAD (2000 DEMO)

Jesse Lacey & Co. bring in the New Year in AC.

Rashad - Brand New A Couple months back encountered a piece of lyrical justice amongst the hiphop debris, Mc by the name of "Rashad" his whole East coast steelo of spit..His style would say took me... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Tweet What I've heard thus far from Taylor Muse's newest endeavor with Quiet Company, "We Are All Where We Belong," gives me the impression that he's been listening to heavy doses of Manchester Orchestra and Brand New's "Daisy" . It's a nice touch to his soul-bearing brutally-honest lyrics he's given us in the past. If it weren't for the emotional bridge "You, Me And The Boatman" would be more pop than solid but his outburst saves it. [...]
Ever since the birth of the internet, it has become a grueling and laborious task to break through the clutter in the music industry. This, however, has never discouraged the guys in Night Fevers . Since day 1, their work ethic has been strong and they've stayed optimistic, hustling and waiting for their big break. It's only a matter of time for the band. Could their time be now? They're finalists (top 10 in the country) in Charter's Center Stage Contest this year and have the chance to take home $25,000 and an opening spot for [...]
![[Listen/Download] – Soft Pipes – "Stay Pretty"](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3736410_lg.jpg)
Tweet The way "Stay Pretty" kicks off with the line "goodbye my dear looks like you weren't the one", I was expecting a typical backhanded compliment kind of negative time-to-split song. Only with every line it sinks in that this has to be one of the more optimistic break-up songs to ever be created. My complete respect is for this song. I can't help but wonder why someone who handles splitting up like an adult rather than some jealous 13 year old is so [...]
Oi vey... what a week it's been. Sorry not to make it by here for a little musi-geek blurb for the last few days. But I'm here now with my mind still intact (or as intact as it ever is) and I count that a major victory against the world and its efforts to squash [...]
