With the 2012 European Championships kicking off today in Poland and Ukraine it was glad to see that Screaming Maldini, named partly in tribute to the greatest defender that has ever lived, produced their own England track for the tournament. The fun-loving Sheffield band delivers a slightly nonsensical yet completely delightful matching video which sees [...]
Ya les he dicho que amo este tema y hoy tengo el placer de presentarles el videoclip:

I was listening to Lauren Laverne's show on BBC 6 Music . I couldn't help but notice listening to this song called 110% by Jessie Ware . Not to be confused with "Jessie J". Here is a tidbit about her. South Londoner Jessie Ware is one of the most exciting vocalists to emerge from the UK underground. The last couple of years have seen the glamorous vocalist collaborating with some of the most respected producers on the electronic spectrum. Jessie caused waves [...]

Whether you were ever a fan of Supergrass matters not, I mean, they broke up, but their music still resonates with a lot of people (including myself). So this first single from Gaz Coombes's solo album is pretty tantalizing. A combo of Brit-pop and straight up indie-rock, it's energetic and hard hitting. Can't deny the fun in that. Tweet

People like Mahalia are exceedingly rare indeed. If you're happy to take a minute out of your time to check her music out, you'll undoubtedly feel the same way. People that own their voices and pick up a distinct style always beep the loudest on our musical radar. Upon first listen to Mahalia that much is clear, her songwriting abilities (though she has worked with fellow artists on this), and musical talents are well worthy of their place in the public consciousness upon their own merit. When you realise she is only 13 years old, it becomes obvious quite how [...]
I had the pleasure of seeing The Robbie Boyd Band play at Beach Break Festival last year, and their upbeat and energetic folk pop really made the trip worthwhile. Boyd’s ear for a melody, chipper demeanour and wide range of energetic stringed instrumentation and vocal arrangement was charmingly captivating. The new single ‘I Won’t Let You [...]

I can't believe I am posting about this pop singer from the UK. But something about this song just grabbed my attention and I like things British. You can call it a "guilty pleasure". My bet that this song will hit #1 in the UK Singles Chart on April 22, 2012. I am talking about Conor Maynard 's track "Can't Say No". Think of Conor as the British "Bieber". Don't really care about the lyrics but there is something about the beats I like. [...]

Disclosure nos presenta su excelente nuevo sencillo "Boiling" que vendrá incluido en su nuevo EP The Face (4 de Junio). El track cuenta con la colaboración de Sinead Harnett, una chica de Londres que está haciendo mucho ruido. Enjoy.

The minimal and downbeat electronic undulating mixed with lo-fi guitar and a Karen-O like female vocalist on this track "Wait" from London's quickly ascending star Airhead (aka Rob McAndrews) is magical. It only takes a few seconds to find yourself completely enraptured. It's stunning. Breathtaking. Awe-inspiring, rocking you involuntarily like a puppet to its beats. If you hear the James Blake connection, it's no accident. They went to school together and have always written and performed together. "He's one of my closest friends [...]

The new thing in the UK is a sort of mix between Chicago Juke, Baltimore Club, and post-dubstep half-time beats. Think short vocal snippets repeated ad nauseam over insanely fast and syncopated 808 beats. It's actually surprisingly fresh, especially considering how derivative it is. Addison Groove had something of a hit a couple years back with Footcrab , a bizarrely funky tune that really showed his Juke and B-more club influence. To further reinforce this, he features Philly / Baltimore heavy hitter Spank Rock on two songs. Not every song on the album is [...]

I love me some young British boys, especially when they make dreamy lush pop with just the right amount of musical tranquillity. That's why I'm down with Bondax , an up-and-coming DJ duo that consists of George Townsend and Adam Kaye from Lancaster, England. They're young, just 17 and 18, but they produce music which is oozing with soulful maturity. Get on this train quick, because these lads are going places. posted by @clarkbs
Despite being a predominantly indie blog we feel a real attachment to Hoodie Allen. As you've no doubt heard us natter about, our interview with him back last year shot to the top of Hype Machine. Two of his tracks maintained #1 and #2 spots for 3 days, which garnered a shed load of hits for a new music blog. On a personal level, back when we were beginning, Hoodie was such a major aspect of our corner of the blogging world. He created an excitement in blogging that caused us to keep striving to improve and share new, awesome [...]
David J Roch is an undertaker. He has the voice of a banshee and the sounds of a great John Carpenter movie. 'Dew' was the first single from Skin & Bones as well as the first song I heard from him; it's reverb is as haunting as the harsh wails from Rochs throat, boiling nails [...]
So this song isn't exactly recent. In fact, it's 13 years old now. Regardless, I thought it was necessary to post this because news came out yesterday that, according to lead singer Damon Albarn , the British rock band Blur is kaput. He stated that he doesn't forsee anymore albums being released by the band at all due to the lack of chemistry with two of the three other band members. This is incredibly disappointing news to me because Blur is probably my second favorite band ever. Sure the band hasn't put out a new album in [...]

Upbeat indie pop from London, Laurel Collective is groovy, noisy, and uber-cool. They signed with an offshoot of Domino Records, Double Six, in their infancy. A sensational introduction to the band with "They Hate Me," I'm dying to see what these guys come up with on their upcoming debut via Tape Club/Believe. Aside from working on their own music, they also do their part to foster the indie scene. Apparently they host a now-famous secret festival in a remotely-located forest (called In the Woods), which has featured the likes of Micachu and the Shapes, The Invisible, Pete and [...]

Scotland's indie-miserablist rockers The Twilight Sad returns with a brand new album that sees a slight change in the band's sound. Listed as 'anti-produced' by Andrew Weatherall (the man who helped shape Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica' club sound), this new direction features a colder sound that's like a modern Joy Division. I guess it must have [...]
New music can come from the most diverse places; a few weeks ago I ventured into town to meet a friend and we wandered down a street seemingly dedicated entirely to iPhone 4 deals. From a distance I could hear a familiar sounding voice being given one hell of a work over. As we enquired [...]
