If you take your blues-rock soaked in distortion and tinged with Honky Tonk, The Comet is the place to be on Friday night. Zachary Burns Band, self-described as "rock and country-blues distilled down to its most potent proof" will be joined by Lexington's Those Crosstown Rivals and locals Valley of the Sun. Valley of the Sun can be easily thrown into the stoner rock category, but I like to think of them as the soundtrack you'd want behind you as you're driving through the desert at sunset. Plus, check out this epic bio: [...]
Tincture is an Australia-based producer whose discography is a little limited right now, but this track was just too good not to share. On "You'll Learn," Tincture actually uses Usher's "Burn" as source material for its nimble vocals. The choppy dubstep groove is fantastic as well. This guy is loaded with promise. / via /
Everyone loves collaborations. There's something basically appealing about the idea that two of the artists that you love could be best buds together. I know all of you secretly feel this way too. It absolutely warms my heart when I think about Boys Noize being friends with Mr. Oizo and the guys of Ra Ra Riot being homies with Vampire Weekend. But the appeal of collaborations isn't just a hipsterism induced 'woah, that guy that no one's ever heard of knows that other guy that no one's ever heard of' thing. Just look at the Grammy's where every performance is [...]

Burns and NT89 combine their love for intense electroclash music by making an ep title track 'traffic' in harmony together. Both known for their intensity in style this ep lives up to that title, including remixes from both Autokratz and Attaque! I have always had a love/hate relationship with this style of music. The 1 minute 30 long build up is siren whiney, however if you can stand the test of time, the stripped back acid electro feel to the track that proceeds is pure awesome. [...]

Pretty sure you all know I have a not so secret obsession with NT89 . And even Burns for that matter. The song they did together starts off in your typical NT89 techno fashion and you almost think it'll carry on that way the rest of the track, but once it hits that first dop so does your jaw. The release also features an outstanding remix by autoKratz which is the best thing since toaster ovens and one by Attaque which reminds me a bit of Gesaffelstein. Burns & NT89 - [...]

If I haven't heared it last year, I had to start this post with the following words "Just want to present you the best track in 2012 so far..."! Guys, this is a monster tune! Bad Life, which climbs up on my favourite-label-ranking with every new EP, released this massive tune in december 2011 but now the original by Burns & NT89 got remixed by label owner autoKratz and Attaque! Both add their special feeling for a brilliant technoid rave track and voilà, we got the biggest package in 2012 so far! If you [...]

Happy Friday everyone. Unfortunately it's not feeling much like the weekend around here due to the fact that I'm buried in a pile of work and need to somehow crawl out by Monday. So for all of you who are stressing about your finals, I hope these tunes can talk you off the edge and provide a good soundtrack for your late nights at the library, cafe, or wherever you choose to waste (i mean wisely spend) your time studying. Our mixtape this week is another installment of the Dirty South Joe & Flufftronix Luvstep mixtape series. Something [...]

Watch St. Vincent cover the Pop Group's 'She Is Beyond Good and Evil' on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night.

Creme Organization is a purveyor of fine music based in Holland. The label was started way back in 2001 by DJ TLR, and since it's beginnings CO has been home to the likes of Basic Soul Unit, Alexander Robotnick and a never ending flow of new producers from across Europe. Although the term house music has been coined by many different sounds over the years, Creme Organization is real house music. Refusing to succumb to the over produced sound of today, you could pick up a CO record and ponder for hours what year it was actually [...]
