It's with extreme pleasure that in collaboration with Analog Space , Bocumast , Meadowlark , Flobots.Org, Larimer Lounge and Twist & Shout that we announce the Denver AfterDark Music Festival. The late summer music festival will be a block party on 2700 Larimer where four stages will converge to bring to light music that we're vibing that represents the spectacular local music aesthetic. We're getting crazy with the electro-rock in here, folks. This week's Denver's Most Fuckable Rockstar is... Justin aka Cacheflowe!!!!! Name: Justin Band: Cacheflowe, mechanized robot boxes. Does he wear cool black-rimmed glasses?: Yup. Why he's this week's Most Fuckable Rockstar: Not that we're jumping on the Best of Westword bandwagon (ok we're jumping on the Best of Westword bangwagon), but Cacheflowe was chosen [...]

The 2010 Westword Music Showcase is almost upon us, and in anticipation I've decided to sit down this rainy weekend and post a few sets from last years event. pretty self explanatory. Note Nick from BDRMPPL and Brittany Gould from Married in Berdichev! are both in the video: Computer World live from Plastic Sound Supply on Vimeo . I'll be back to reviewing tomorrow :)

This wasn't meant to diminish any of the other bands playing, it's just that in most cases I had already seen many of the other bands worth seeing. So now that the showcase is over and done with I'm sure you're wondering to yourself (or maybe even out-loud), "Hey Father Guido! [...]

I have all sorts of good music that's been sent to me or already written upon by influential types that I've been enjoying... Amrit and all those cool NYC tastemakers have been up on Takka Takka for quite a while, but I like to let things filter down sometimes to see if it lives past the hype, so I'm just now checking [...]
